I've got a couple of those keys, they still exist on the big river site. They work a treat on metal tubes such as big brand hand creams but not so well on plastic tubes such as toothpaste. Will have to do a search for those little heads, they sound intriguing!
4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 8 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 16 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!8 -
Paper clips work well on the plastic tubes. Not the curly wire ones, the no-nonsense metal jaw type. I think they are called foldback clips and they come in lots of different sizes, to fit different size tubes. Look on the big river site if you are not sure what they look like, but you can get them anywhere that sells stationery type stuff. You may even have some laying around. Simply roll up the tube from the bottom and clip it9

Dear Readers (& lurkers),
Well, the turkey has been collected & you may all rest easy in your beds tonight knowing that Mr F has managed to procure a new box of cornflour!! Had a very enjoyable day with our friends yesterday. Always one to 'pick my moments', I somehow managed to pull some muscles in my back yesterday, so have been banned from bending. Am currently sitting on straight-back chair next to the Christmas tree with a hot water bottle, in an attempt to tease out the gnarly bit of muscle. Worry not, however, as I have ensured I am.in easy reach of the chocolates!
Well, m'dears, as the year draws to an end, I'd like to wish you all a Happy Yuletide. Whether you celebrate the birth of the son of your God, the older festival of midwinter or just like to take the opportunity to enjoy a welcome break from work to spend time with loved ones, I hope you have a lovely time.
Thank you for all your comments, contributions, amazing money saving tips & laughs over the year. It is so very clear from the parlous state of the planet that we will ALL need to live far more sustainable lifestyles, so we are at least on the right road with taking much more of a conscious approach around money & acquisitiveness. Already finding lots to think about for 2024,
Peace & love,
F x
