Thanks for your good wishes. No, not a lergy. Before my recent diagnosis, I'd have said a dose of IBS, but now I know it is actually an IBD, I need to rest & be careful with what I eat so as to avoid a flare-up. I have been sensible though & did have an hour stretched out on the bed with my book.

Ha! Am glad that both rock buns & jam buns have been enjoyed!
@ladyholly - I never skived cookery lessons as I really enjoyed them, but I loathed PE & did my best to dodge those lessons as often as possible (which was nowhere near as often as I'd have liked)
And thanks for your good wishes. I do feel better than yesterday, though I have eaten quite lightly again, just to give myself another day of being careful. Hearing the election results first thing cheered me immensely, being both party-political & of the Left.
Well, the storm hit our county worse than I was expecting. It has not stopped raining at all so far, not even for a few minutes. The water ingress above our landing window has started up again & is on its 2nd towel, but so far the ancient flat roof at the back of our house hasn't started leaking. Mr F works in a building/area vulnerable to flooding & had to send his team home at lunchtime. His journey home (26 miles) was hairy, with water right across a major road in a couple of places to quite a long way up the car. Thankfully our car is a 4-wheel drive, which probably helped. Our village invariably floods, but hasn't quite reached that level of alert yet. Thankfully for us, it mostly floods at what we call 'the posh end'. And at the marina, which over-tips like a big bowl.
Anyway, enough of the woffle.....activity so far has involved cleaning all of downstairs, changing bed linen & swapping to winter duvet, washing what I'd just taken off the bed & festooning the heated airer with it. Defrosted spag bol for Mr F & chicken soup for me. Ordered a couple of the items I researched yesterday for nephew Christmas presents. Had to hold my nose on one of them & order from large company which (allegedly) is not known for its altruistic attitude towards paying a fair share of UK tax. I haven't used this online company for years, but our middle neff can be difficult to buy for & similar items only seemed to be available from a website which seemed to be HQ-d at a box no. in the far east. Hmmm, didn't think that sounded too useful should there be an issue with the transaction or item. Anyway, another couple of gifts crossed off the list. I must make time to go through it properly & see what else I need to buy, as I have made quite a lot of progress. Oh, & the other gift item, which came from a UK indie online business gave me a 10% new customer discount code, which pretty much covered delivery costs, so that was a tiny positive.
I've also done a few surveys & am just a shade away from my target of £40 on my PA October earnings, so will keep at it.
The cats are utterly miserable with the constant rain. We have now had over 14 hours of constant rain, as it began here at 3.15am. They are bored stiff as they do like to go out several times a day. They have already had fisticuffs & a paw fight over who was going to sit on the piano stool. Ash has been in trouble 3 times for clawing the stair carpet & once for jumping heavily onto Mr F's laptop keyboard. Soot (naturally) is trying it on for extra food even more than usual (boredom eating). Well, that is my day. We have cancelled our trip to next city outskirts for a Sains*'s trip tomorrow as the rain looks set to continue into tomorrow & we think there will be too much water standing on the roads, as well as possibility of the Trent coming over at a neighbouring village, which always closes a key exit in & out of town. Any diary readers living in the North East & Scotland, I hope you & your homes are safe. It looks very rough indeed up there.

It got so windy here I got DS to stand blocking the car door from blowing too far back or do I mean forward. But not really THAT wet, although the wind kept me awake last night.
