Ha, do you have much of a choice of people to snog in exchange for a coffee?? 😂6

Lol, @Cheery_Daff - I guess we all have a choice in theory, it's just that they come with consequences!
I now have a nice hot coffee in my winter robin mug & some time with my book. Much nicer than thinking about tackling Annoying Jobs, which have been bumped to the week ahead.

Yup it’s nearly that time of year again, never get tired of that film and the Emma Thompson scene still gets me 😢 Hocus Pocus first though 🧙♀️I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Lol at snogging for a coffee. In our house it’s ‘[insert number] is a lot of [insert item], David’.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

In our house, for a snog, I'd be expecting a super duper fancy pumpkin spice latte 🤣🤣🤣
On the other hand, thinking about our local coffee shop barista, he is a rather handsome young thing, wonder it he takes alternatives to cash?4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! 😂😂 you lot 😂😂 Our local barista, while very lovely (he even persuaded me to start drinking coffee) is only about 25 so there will be no such shenanigans. Although having said that, I was only 25 when I met Mr Cheery, and he was 43 (the age I am now) 😱 now I'm at the other end, I can see why he was a bit hesitant 😱
Anyway, we have a rule in our house that if someone asks for a drink, you have to make them one 😂 I suppose the same goes for a snog although that's never been articulated in the same way 😂6 -

Hello Diary Readers,
Thanks for your comments, which have been making me smile this afternoon.
Well, it's been pretty much an old-style day here on the money-saving front. I must sign out imminently to go & fetch the laundry in, but here are today's small budget-helping positives, anyway:
*Managed to fit all this week's laundry into one load. All pegged out & hopefully at least partially dry. It's been a bright sunny day, but certainly chilly this morning, with icy windscreens again.
*Baked bread - Mary Berry's farmhouse loaf - my scaled down version so that it fits in my bread tin.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch & breakfast.
*Did my usual Monday morning budget updates. Tomorrow is my regular mid-month budget check-in, during which I reconcile all the figures to make sure we are where I think we should be money-wise. Felt good to have everything straight ready for sitting at my desk & tackling that tomorrow.
*Made my mincemeat ( a half quantity as we are not hosting this year). It is steeping in sherry for a couple of days, then it can be put into jars.
*Mistakenly bought too many bramleys for the mincemeat, so cooked the surplus up into 2 containers of apple sauce, now in the freezer.
*Virtually zero effort for tonight's nose-bag, as Mr F made sufficient lovely butternut macaroni cheese to feed us twice. It barely made an inroad into our enormous homegrown Guatemalan blue squash. Homegrown French beans from the freezer will be served with it.
*Entered 5 competitions.
*Did 3 surveys - I complained about 2 others which had been incorrectly set up & wouldn't move on past the initial introductory page.
*Still to do - check district council website for the rest of this financial year's garden waste bin collection dates as they drop to once monthly over winter, but I can't remember exactly when. I like to get my money's worth, as it's a paid-for service.
*Saved on cat food by UTTERLY REFUSING to give Soot a 2nd breakfast, despite a level of persistence which was dramatic even by his impressive standards!
Right, quick look at that council bin info, then must go & fetch the laundry in. I expect the larger items will require an hour or two on the heated airer but defo not as long as would be required had I not pegged them out first.
Hope everyone has managed to get off to a good start to the week.
