Thanks all, yes, I have done a few tasks, but at a gentle pace & will be on the sofa shortly with my feet up as Mr F is cooking tonight. Am very relieved that the scan has now been done. Apparently I was not the only person last week who refused the offer of a same-day replacement scan at the main hospital on the grounds that a 42-mile round trip after that dynerrodd medicine would not be anyone's idea of fun!
Anyway, the main aim today was to get through the experience without getting too stressed, so I have achieved that, even when they couldn't find a vein for the cannula. I really do have form for that, but have been much better the last 2 or 3 times. Years ago, a very strident practice nurse after making numerous attempts to take blood from me said "Does this woman actually have a veinous system, I wonder!". I am feeling ok though & trying not to overthink getting the results.
A few money saving positives:
*The hospital kindly provided me with tea & shortbread biscuits while I was waiting in the recovery/waiting room afterwards, so I brought my emergency handbag snacks home with me for another day.
*Sorted yesterday's clean laundry & as usual, ironed only what really needed it.
*Used up the last tiny bit of a couple more use-it-up products. Anyone who cba to cut tubes open really is wasting a whole heap of product imo.
*Did my regular Monday budget updates. We overspent July's grocery budget by £2.79, which I have charged to the general budget buffer zone.
*Added latest L*kel*nd vouchers to my voucher wallet. Our toaster is about to cark it, so the 20% off one will be very useful, as they have one we like.
*Checked for surveys, but supply of these rather enfeebled today.
*Shopped a nice A4 notebook from home, as I filled up my general notebook today - the new one was a present from a friend about 3 years ago. Tonight's job will be sifting through my current notebook to transfer any pearls of wisdom (ha, as if!) I want to keep, my book list, any recipes I haven't yet tried, etc. I'll do this while trying to beat Mr F at University Challenge. We are pretty evenly matched on the whole, but if there are loads of physics, space, mathsy questions, he is more likely to get them right than me. He's very competitive with quizzes.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch & breakfast.
*Entered a few prize draws.
Right, I am going to do a minor bit of kitchen tidying while listening to a chapter of my audiobook, then it will be bum-on-sofa time & no more jobs for me. I have been told I can now eat & drink perfectly normally, & that the after-effects of the noxious medicine & carbon-dioxide (I won't go into details about where the latter went.......) will abate during the next 2 to 3 days. Thank-you for all the kind & supportive wishes I have received on here. It was a bit of a shock finding out 6 weeks ago that I was actually quite a bit more poorly back in Spring than I realised at the time, so I am grateful to get these scans to confirm (or not!) what exactly was going on, as well as a treatment plan.
I think I can hear Soot head-butting the pantry door. Hmmmm. I did close it properly, so I think that is all he can be doing.

Well you certainly sound a bit better now FG, glad to hear that. Yes, sit and put your feet up and wait for Mr FGs tea. If I had to rely on my Dh to do tea, he would either nip to chippy or grab a pie & chips out the freezer....he's not one for cooking. You are very lucky to have such a good husband I think. Hope you don't have to wait too long for the results and that they are positive. Enjoy your book, I love listening to podcasts while I'm working in kitchen.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Well done you for getting through a very unpleasant experience (times several!). Enjoy your relaxing time, and take it as easy as you can over the next few days. It's not just been rough physically in all sorts of ways but mentally too, and stress and upset often catches up with us in a big dollop once we're able to relax a little so be kind to yourself if you feel like doing b*gger all for a while.
It can often be harder to take blood if someone's a bit dehydrated, which is normal when one's usual dietary routine has been messed around with x9 -
Glad to hear all went to plan. I hope you get the results soon so dont have too long to stress. Take things easy over the next day or two. The jobs will still be there when you are ready.

Morning Campers!
Woke early, just having a cup of ginger tea. A day of kitchen witchery planned for today, so I'll see how I get on. Can always roll a few tasks over to tomorrow if necessary.
Best wishes, everyone, for a pleasant & productive day.
