I am a returning participant after slipping once again into nightly drinking. Am not sure if I am trying to cut down or stop drinking at this stage and haven't even got any alcohol free days under my belt yet. But I have been thinking about my health as I am getting older and have spent a lot of this year recovering from an injury. It seems everything I see on TV giving health advice says cut down alcohol, never giving a reason why so I just allowed myself to believe they are just saying it for the sake of it and it doesn't apply to me! So I have no strategy for tonight, but know I need it. The last alcohol free nights I had were 3 weeks in July just because my injury had me worried I may not be able to walk if I was even more wobbly. With Christmas looming I am debating whether I am setting myself up to fail. Manpants - I remember you posting before (I haven't posted since 2021!), well done on your success so far, you have done amazing and I really admire you. Cathybird - I won't set a target yet as I haven't a clue what I'm doing.
You've taken the first step by posting @Dryjan. I've always found that if I can get past preparing dinner then I'm OK for the rest of the evening or better still go out somewhere like the cinema or the gym.
