    7/20 for me today please.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Hi Cuppatea

My diet is pretty good (though not perfect) so I think my high cholesterol could be :-

1)alcohol (alcohol goes straight to the liver and gets changed into cholesterol)

    2) exercise (my main exercise is long walks and the weather has been so rainy I haven’t been able to get the miles in - I’ve joined a gym, loving it - doing walking on the treadmill at fast speed -  getting my heart rate up to 130/140 which is the zone where you lose weight). Excercise lowers cholesterol.

3)excess pounds - whist my bmi is in the healthy category I am still carrying fat. I read that losing 5 to 10 % of your weight will lower cholesterol. For me that is between 6 to 13 pounds. I’ve lost 3-4 pounds in a month.

So I’ve been trying to target all the above.

I “May” have found something that will solve my sleep problems- which will also solve some of my issues around alcohol. Magnesium supplements. Started them a few days ago - first day seemed to make no difference but last night I had an excellent night. Alcohol depletes magnesium, magnesium is needed for sleep. Fingers crossed that I might have discovered my sleep cure. I can hope!

    4/16 please Cathybird.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
