Giving Up/Cutting Down Alcohol Thread part 18

I feel for you @WannabeFree. 🤗 Don't beat yourself up. If a drink is helping you through then go for it. The great thing about this thread is that nobody is judgemental. I have some empathy in that, even after all these years, I struggled big time in June when my DH was hospitalised hours before we were due to fly off on holiday and having a drink at the end of the day took the edge off. Hope your dad gets better very soon and you manage to not get Covid yourself, despite being stuck in a windowless room??🤔
No more for me this month @cathybird. We're out tonight and tomorrow so August will have a delayed start. 😉5 -
Thanks Maman. Luckily I'm too exhausted for self flagellation this week. And I love the non-judgemental nature of the thread too. Even when things have been going relatively well for me I'm conscious of how easy it is to slip back into bad habits so it's riskly feeling smug or being judgemental. I have had Covid at least twice over the last 4 years and I had all the vaccines. They have him in a side room for isolation to stop him giving Covid to other patients but unfortunately the room has no windows so feels more like a prison cell than a hospital. A good test of my immune system anyway!https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6621582/ynab-robber-needs-help-to-execute-the-plan/p1

Good afternoon everyone,
13 please Cathy
Arkers x4 -
Failed for July.
Feeling very fragile - I'm a Sandgrounder (i.e. live around Southport area), and my God there have been bucket-loads of tears shed for the poor wee souls who went to a Swiftie-themed dance and yoga event, but who's lives changed forever, and for three they can never go home.
Sorry folks, it's very, very devastating. And then some bigots thought there was some excuse for rioting.
A friends son is a paramedic and he saved one of the little girls lives. Three locals carried his equipment from the ambulance to the venue - they saved her life too !
Sorry again, I'm in tears again. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?10 -
Sorry to have disappeared again in July. I didn't drink though and am on 31/25 please cathybird. X
I will go back now and read the posts I have missed. X

oh oh Satchmo you poor thing. I’m sorry you are living through that devastation at the movement. Treat yourself gently whilst you process the horrors. Thinking of you.Great to read all the updates from the long standers. You are all doing amazingly and very inspiring.Things are still not great here with my home life and I’m struggling with mental and physical health due to excessive alcohol. Have a blood test booked in 5 days. I’m scared. But I will keep trying.10 for July. Unsure about august. I want to stop at least for a while but iby the afternoon it’s such a head battle.Live for the moment and plan for the future5
