Evening, I'm very behind due to a bit of a manic start to the month. I finished October on 19/20 which was a bit annoying! So far this month has been a bit dire but I have managed 6 AFDs. Can I have a target of 20 again so I can declare 6/20 today please Cathybird4

Hi all, I'm back! Just didn't get round to posting - "I'll do that later" and didn't. Anyway it's 14/29 and Cat On The Moon day! Now 934 days since a drink at home, well pleased with that. Must have saved £5,000 or so.
Right - New York part three (feel free to scroll past!). This was the first gig of our mini-tour, Level Restaurant, Brooklyn. (Google is your friend!). Well! Talk about swish! $100 to reserve a table per person (£80 near enough). Drinks were $$$ Ching! We got there early, about 5pm and got set up. We did one quick sound check (we had everything mic'd up so it was a bit complex) but we paid a sound-man $250 so we were confident the sound would be good - and it was exceptional, well pleased with that. The manageress came over and said "This is a restaurant, not a BAR!" Oh. A few minutes later she complained the levels weren't good - we know, at that stage we were just testing all connections etc. Anyway the venue had already told us to wear black only and the girls had to have their hair as specified! OK so we start the first number (Wipeout) and went straight into "All The Small Things". Well! That set the tone, we went down fairly well. Then " 7 Nation Army" and that was it - we could do no wrong after that! I don't think they'd ever seen a British pub rock band before! The venue was fabulous, the lights too, all-in-all the best gig I've ever done by far and probably the best I'll ever do. In true rock'n'roll style we got $1,000 for the night but where did it go? Absolutely no idea! We have a youtube video (which I won't post here) but if anyone wants to PM me, I'll send the link - or details if it won't send.
I found New York colossally expensive - a 340g bag of almonds was $16.99 - 4 times LIDL price. At a 7-11, a loaf of bread, 12 eggs, punnet of mushrooms - £15. Cripes! Have a nice day y'awl!Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!6 -
That sounds brilliant @RobM99. What an experience and what a memory! 👍🏼
Pumpkin day for me.😁 7/10 AFDs please @cathybird4
