Morning all, checking in early as usual - 9/14 for me today please @cathybird4

Morning all and a super day it is too! Got paid for the last 2 gigs - sometimes these things take 3 weeks but that's OK; it's an agency with a top reputation - plus they get us the slightly better venues. That's a digression though.
19 please and Menorca beckons, so it won't be an AFM (Alc' free month) for a change. I'm not the sort to think "WAHEY! I'm on 'oliday innit Bruv!" and get so drunk I can't remember the hotel or anything stupid, but even a small beer is not an AFD, is it? When away I have a rule - 3 drinks or €10 - whichever comes first. Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!5 -

Really now looking at my drinking since it has reduced so much. It was not just AF days I was after but cutting back. I have done that so one glass of fizz Saturday instead of a bottle, but, to be honest that was more about "wanting to fit in"
Then Sunday more fizz at an event to myself. Again better than a full bottle but i could have just had water. I was the only one who had a drink then. I could have taken a soft drink for me. The fizz made me so tired I slept the rest of the day and if I am honest I enjoyed the cup of tea at the end of the event more.
So I have cut back, but now am more aware of when I am drinking. Sometimes it is to fit in, sometimes it is because really I am tired and the sugar keeps me awake for a bit and sometimes it is because I dont really want to be where I am so it is a bit of an escape and they are hardly good reasons for drinking.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6 -
This is good thinking. My story is well known on here so I won't go through it again. If alcohol were invented today, it'd be banned!Watty1 said:
