Glad you got some more sleep, Valli. Keep warm and hydrated xx
I have spent this morning dealing with about 150 emails - deleting them, filing them away in rarely-opened folders just in case I might need to refer back to them, and/or saving the attachments. I now have only 8 emails in my in-box, all awaiting a response or further action of one kind or another.
I have decided that I need to reorganise my kitchen - can't manage without my toaster but also need space on the worktop for the AF! - so will declutter whatever I can from the cupboards and move my mixer down and out of sight. I ought not to be making a lot of cakes, anyway. I've noticed the scales creeping up again....
We have blue sky and sunshine, the forecast for this afternoon is good, and DH wants to go out for a walk, so maybe I can persuade him to drive me down and up the hills between here and the Covert and park nearer to the entrance, then we can take our exercise along a level path, and Rosie might meet some of her friends too.
If you're back to work tomorrow, make the most of the Bank Holiday xx

I came down and fed the girls.. and let the cats in the pen.
I put the WMs on after midnight.. I know the rules! So I have that to hang up.chuck in TD (many socks in there!) I can get the next 2 loads in.. I might actually hang the towels out, it is fairly warm out today.. a balmy 9'C!I need to rebook ballet/tap.. Dot doesn't want to do it any more. She doesn't like the new teacher and the old one won't have her in the class because she is too old.. I don't see what difference it makes so long as she is being good and enjoying it. We don't just have to stick with people the same age.OH can do the DW and a swift whizz around with Feargal.
I am going to make a start on this pit of mine.. If I am not back by about 5/6pm send in the sniffer dogs! Well that broke me... I opened a different browser and a news article popped up.. This one.. the young woman we had known most of her life.. I take a moment every NY to remember her and her family. She would be 41 now, maybe a grandma.. definitely a mum. She has nieces and nephews she never met, and some she did.. it still hurts my heart.. unfortunately the piece of poo who took her life still lives..
NOW I WILL TIDY...

Well that’s Christmas back in the loft for another year. Every year I struggle to get the lights in their boxes. Today it dawned on me that if the boxes opened from the other side, it would be easy. Bring on all my Blue Peter skills, and hey presto, lights and plugs easily fitted into their boxes and tidily put away. It only took me 15 years to work it out…
Towels have been out on the line. DH said he would retrieve the whirlything from the garage where he had put it. Ok, about time he lifted a finger or 4. Gave up waiting after 30 minutes and did it myself. Towels now inside again as it’s blue skies and freezing. Wm loaded for the morning as we are both wfh.
Whole house vacuumed, the DR even got shown a duster (only due to the low winter light, I would have ignored it otherwise, obviously). DH dragged a huge suitcase from the loft for me - it seems to contain towels and bedding. Whoever knew. That’s a job for me for the coming days (weeks…).11 -
So sad Pigpen, what a waste of a life.
I feel better knowing Fayolle is in my parallel universe, but sorry to hear a few of us are suffering back to work anxiety. If only we didnt have to work eh?
I wanted to make the most of the last day of the holidays so we went for a lovely walk on the edge of the moors, took a flask and Christmas biscuits so didnt spend anything. Have neatly piled all the Christmas decs in a corner waiting for DH to get the boxes out of the loft. Hoovered LR and got sheets and doggie blankets partly dried outside. Cooked a joint of ham in the sc for sandwiches during the week, need to do a mealplan.
Something easy for tea, will have to pack my laptop bag at some point.11 -

Hi, sneaking back in to wish you all a Happy Healthy New Year.
Festivities went well here and DD2 left us this afternoon. Tomorrow will be spent taking the tree down and putting all the decorations away.
I need to get on with more decluttering and the objectives for the coming few months are to try and eat better and move more. So I will be back making myself accountable to all you lot. I know the bit by bit method works, and I have learnt to keep on top of the house here most of the time so hoping you'll help me learn to look after myself better.
DW done
WM done
Kitchen put to bed last night
Hand washed a cushion cover as it was too dusty and mouldy to use. It was a tapestry one done by MIL many years ago so I decided to give it a chance and wash it by hand. Doesn't seem to have shrunk or colours run so now drying in the bathroom.
Shopping done for the next few days. Stuck to list.
Spending spreadsheet updated
Good luck to those going back to work tomorrow, put those best SMILES on!
Hugs to all11
