Hope you are feeling better this morning Valli x
Feeling a bit anxious and wobbly here as the return to the paid stuff looms, however, I am also craving a bit of normality so trying to keep it all in perspective. Tomorrow brings some big changes at work and a new member for my team which is supposed to make my job easier, but I am a bit on the fence about that.
Going to take the Christmas tree down, pack away the last of the decorations and strip DSs bed. Doggie blankets are in the WM as it is supposed to be a bright sunny day. DS2 is still poorly and still in bed here, poor kid, he was supposed to be doing something important at work today too.
Have a good Monday all, will catch up later xx15 -
I rang the hospital (there’s a dedicated phone line) and was told I can take ibuprofen, which I did. A little easier and I’ve dozed. I can also ring GO for codeine but I suspect they’ll be closed today.
I had a hot water bottle..
im not sure I’ll be getting up yodayDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all.
I hope your pain continues to ease Valli.
Priority for me today is taking down the Christmas decs, apart from two sets of lights which stay up all year round because the babies like them!
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.14 -
I hope your pain eases with the combination of parrots and ibuprofen Valli. I found Co-codamol helpful when things were really bad, but it's parrots-based so it's instead of that and is available as an OTC med for up to three days and can also be taken with ibuprofen.Yesterday for the first time I said No to Extras Belovéd suggested needed doing - reducing the Christmas stuff from 5 to 4 boxes, and fixing the outside Christmas lights. Normally if he wants something doing I put it on the top of my list, bumping things I regard as Urgent or Important. This time, miraculously, I realised instantly that doing so would mean I remained frustrated by my inability to get my own priorities done, so I've diaried the lights for July and said I like all the Christmas stuff so we're keeping it. He was fine with both. Saying No wasn't on my new year's resolution list - this year I don't have any because the only thing that matters is th ongoing business of getting my ankle and legs sorted, but if I can or have apparently learned to say No and that happened to start the year with a productive change in behaviour, that's a definite New Year bonus. So, apart from that, yesterday I:- sorted out some bits and pieces to donate,- devised a To Do weekly list format and filled it in for this week,- did something that was on it that has to be done this week,- realised I need to have a section that is for next week,- managed to empty a box that's been on my RoD floor for weeks,- cleared the Christmas corner in my office. The Minimal Mom did a chat a few weeks ago about huge tasks that become Frogs and then Cane Toads, that are so daunting that we just put them off and put them off and fret about them for months, if not years. I've had a few of those in my time, and her suggestion that the way to face them is to set 15 minutes aside regularly to nibble away at them struck me as incredibly helpful. That I do intend to implement this year but it's not a new year's resolution because even I know they don't work after making them for 50 years.Better is good enough.11

Morning all,
Brighter start weatherwise to the day, wm is on, but not sure that the washing will be going outside. Today I’m living in YL’s parallel universe - work anxiety looms, new member of staff starting which is going to make my life oh so much easier (I am a natural at scepticism at the best of times), Christmas decs to come down. I am however contemplating leaving some twinkly lights up after reading your comments. Finally picked DD up from the station last night. The train was packed with people trying to beat the train disruptions, but luckily big town was Sunday night quiet, a blessing for someone who doesn’t know the raids that well and couldn’t see the faded lane markings due to the wet and dark. She went to bed early, so I am guessing it was a heavy party night.
Valli - fwiw, I always got codeine into the house. 30g not 15g tablets, as nothing else seemed to touch the sides.
Have a lovely day all x12 -
Me again. Just having breakfast. Christmas is back in the loft and I've flicked the duster on a stick round the living room and set up a little bookshelf for the babies in there.Spend less now, work less later.12

Hello everyone. I'm back after a long break from the 2022 thread.
I need to take control as things have begun to slide.
I didn't even get Christmas decorations up so only cards to be taken down. Christmas boxes are out so need sorting and packed away.
I can't clean much at the moment until I've tidied the whole house but I am up to date with my washing and washing up.
I'm looking at my windowsill which has my Christmas cards on, my birthday cards from December, a vase of dead flowers, a plant that keeps dying on me and a new pot with I think has bulbs in from my daughter who is hoping I can keep this one alive. She gave it me as a challenge but I wish she wouldn't do this to me. I can barely keep myself functioning!
There is a sweeping brush in front of the window sill too. I do manage to sweep the floor each week, but for some reason I must have got distracted and didn't finish doing it last time.
Oh well, accounts are up to date and food cupboard inventory done...I'll try to remember to check in later with an update.

@Valli I hope you manage to get the pain levels under some semblance of control - (another rec. for co-codamol) - thinking of you today ((hugs)).
Was up this morning at 8.30, after another late night with way too much New Year Cheer
Packing today, ready for trip away to Uncle-in-law’s funeral.
Finally, succumbed to DH’s ‘flu - everything just hurts.
Back later,
