If it helps anyone... I got the initial 5k limit when my other two credit cards had just 1,500 and 2,700 limit, and my credit history was only 1 year (had a current account for a longer time, but credit cards only for 1 year and 2 months at the time I applied for BC).

Less than a year after BC, I applied for Halifax and got 6,300 initial limit, then my first Amex later that year, with 5,400 initial limit.

Had a forward card for about 5 years and every year I’ve asked to change it and they always refuse.

Only keep it because it’s one of my oldest cards but really I should just get rid.

Glad they upgraded you though, although I read on this forum I’m sure earlier in the year they no longer offer upgrades on the forward and you have to close and reapply for a new account. Did you just ask the chat?

If you open your app - and go to 'cards' - look for 'Change to a different card' - if any cards show there, you don't need to apply - a click will convert your card to whichever you choose automatically. I had the Forward - and swapped to the Rewards. I could currently move to the Platinum, Avios or Avios plus - but I already have the best card for my own needs.

Should you be able to change cards - your current APR and credit limit will transfer over to the new card. The only thing that'll change is the benefits associated with the new card.
