With you Pip on the bigger than newborn clothes for babies. My Mum did the same as she said you always get given lots of newborn things but they grow so fast they may not all get worn or don't get much use, it is more useful to have larger things as you are normally given fewer and means if they grow quicker than you expect it is at least something you have in. So I have always gone for 6m to 1yr type of sizes. Also if you are a bit slow finishing it they haven't grown out of it. :-D

Take care everyoneWhat? You’ve been bombed? @Liverpool_Anne I knew Liverpool was a target but I was hoping the Nazis would miss your house! Weren’t you lucky that they only damaged the corner with the linen cupboard?
Here, have a cuppa and a biscuit and tell us all about the air raid.
(Seriously, unless you have a habit buying bed linens or towels, we don’t count spends on them in the Challenge.)

Well, I know I wasn't completely sure about the new Research Establishment up the valley, but since they started taking dental patients, I have to say I am awfully glad I can go there - tomorrow I'm having three teeth extracted, none of them simple ones, but thankfully I won't have the foot-pedal drill or the large hypodermic with basic pain control - I shall have the new state-of-the-art anaesthetics, equipment and sterilisation thanks to that super-modern Research Establishment - it will be like having dental work 80 or more years in the future...
Wish me luck... I've got plenty of experience of extractions so I've spent today preparing...!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
January (29): winter boots, green trainers, canvas swimming-shoes (15); t-shirt x2 (8); 3m cotton twill (6);
.
2025 second-hand acquisitions (no coupons): None thus far
.

January: teddybear-lined velvet jacket (11) & hat (0); velvet sleep-mask (0);7 -
@Laura_Elsewhere - Wish you luck - and no pain. Keeping the eyes crossed for you (supposed to be stronger than crossing the fingers!).7

Good luck, Laura - my experience has been that extraction is a lot simpler and less painful than some of the other dental work, but three in one go is quite a lot. Make sure to follow the aftercare advice religiously.I've just read this article about not washing clothes - I draw the line at clean underwear
, but it does make some interesting points

Good luck @Laura_Elsewhere. I hope it goes well and, if they give you sedation, that it is as good as the stuff they gave me today for my gastroscopy. I know nothing of the procedure beyond being told to lie on my side and bite the mouthpiece they gave me.

@PollyWollyDoodle - I have had nineteen extractions so I have quite a bit of practice for it! Saltwater rinsing every few hours is the biggest factor in avoiding problems, plus I always sleep sitting up for a couple of nights, and have mushy food, avoiding sugar and acidic foods plus anything bitty or with seeds or pips…!
@PipneyJane sadly dentist’s surgeries can’t administer sedation of that kind but I have a weird reaction to dental anaesthetic injections so will effectively be sedated- Mr E will be coming along to take me home as afterwards I shall be basically as though I’ve spent the hour giggling with friends over a couple of jugs of Pimms…!!!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
