£61.97/£300
First week of challenge, came in at £61.97. I was initially a bit disappointed with this as we had plenty of food in cupboards and freezer but it did include £10 alone for toothbrush heads and some maple syrup. Also some items purchased in first week should last all month. Big win of the week was sticking to our meal plan and exciting part of the week is that I'm making some bread rolls today rather than buying some. Currently on their second prove, will let you know how they go. Not necessarily cheaper but fun to do 🙂. Have a good week everyone.10 -

@Saver-upper - that is definitely a down shift as per the MSE challenge as you're going from a branded product to a SM own brand.

Just after christmas we had npthing in tbe house as we spent christmas with family. DH chose some sliced chicken to have in a sandwich but found it was a bit "slimy!)" looked ok to me. So i added some chopped nacon and onions, made some pastry and turned it into 6 pies. We had a couple today and they were really yummy. I would have thrown that out in the past. Feeling very pleased with myself. 😊craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

I spent £84.11 this week. This was £62.11 Tesco delivery + £13.30 milk and more + £8.70 Tesco express.I have amended the total in my signature.
i am going to try stretching out my (now) weekly online shop to see if one less big shop and occasional top ups works better over the month. We will see!It means my next shop is Sunday 15th Jan (8 days) but the one after that is 25th (10 days) which is pay day so falls in to the next month for me.'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'8 -
Good luck @PurpleJay I started like that and now do one tesco online shop a month and just pop to Aldi with a list for bits I need in between. It means I manage without branded things I havnt already got and meal plan accordingly. Our nearest tescos is miles away and I can get a flexi delivery slot for £1.50 which is actually cheaper than the petrol to get there. I also dont get tempted by all of the other things in store. If we go into town I occasionally drop into Sainsburys and if I spot a really good deal on internet and am going anywhere near that shop I will pick it up whilst out. and I definitely spend less money this way.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Well I majorly overspent this weekend, but we had a second Christmas with family who had been away for the December slot....and we all had a great time, so the budget got ignored with the festivities.
So far I have spent
£85
out of my monthly budget of £160. I may have to tighten that belt a lot to make it!

Good evening All
I think that I’ve got three shops to declare, possibly four. (Honestly, I can’t remember if I’ve already declared the £13.14 spent in L!dl on Monday.).
£27.64 spent in L!dl on Thursday. I went with half a shopping list and a desperate need for fresh milk. Bought cashew nuts, a Salmon Wellington and a few other things beside the milk. There were virtually no YS items when I got to the shop at 6pm, but I did manage to pick up some YS pate and dried ham, both long dated. Naturally, there were no eggs. Also, 2L fresh milk is now £1.65, up from £1.45 before Christmas.
Today, we went to MrT’s. Needed to spend £40 in order to take advantage of a £4-off voucher. I ended up including a £6.50 knitting magazine, to get the spend over the threshold (paid the GC purse back later). Bought YS cherry tomatoes for 31p and YS meat balls for £1.75. Once the magazine and our Sunday paper are deducted - we get vouchers for the paper - we spent £27.41.
After MrT’s, we went to Sainsbugs to buy loose broccoli - not plastic wrapped - and to take advantage of an offer on Yeo Valley Yoghurts (£1.65 per 450g pot, but only on the raspberry). Also took advantage of an offer on their Ecco recycled toilet paper (£2.70 instead of £3.50). Total spend £13.06.We’re now at £81.40/£148.40, leaving £67 for the rest of the month.
