Just a heads up for everyone that uses Chase Bank to fund regular savers. Mine is funded through my Chase savings account. May have caused issues with other payments.
Todays payment has not been sent, due to the Bank holiday. Even though it’s not a bank holiday today.
Got 2 texts informing of non payment.
It will be sent tomorrow, that’s what I was advised on the phone call.
Hope this info helps.

Which banks informed you of non payment today?
  • Yes, all my direct debits and standing orders have been deferred until tomorrow and that's with Barclays and TSB. Funnily enough I have transferred money to ZOPA today so somebody is working, probably me.

You still should not have had direct debits or standing orders declined.

Or were your non payment texts about manual payments you attempted today.

There are some differences in bank holidays (oh, and remember that some 'holidays' are more public than bank).
Scotland observes bank holidays and public holidays separately based upon traditions and customs whereas, in all other countries of UK, bank holidays are normally public holidays. So the Glasgow Fair and Dundee Fortnight remain public holidays, and not bank holidays in Scotland. In Ireland, the official word is public holiday though people also refer to bank holidays.  https://www.differencebetween.com/difference-between-bank-holiday-and-vs-public-holiday/

The most obvious one is that we in Scotland have 02 January as a holiday too so this year we don't get going until officially until 04 January. Also we don't have Easter Monday as a bank holiday.
