DHL on the other hand .... actually delivered the parcel on Saturday the 24th, late afternoon, so it ended better than expected.
This hasn't stopped my anger at M&S though, what a shambolic way to do business.
I'll be able to see what happened when their tracking updates and shows me their actions re: dispatch etc.
I 'got mad' because this scenario is the very one i was ensuring didn't happen.
If i had wanted the 24th i would have specified that date 😠😠😠
Let's turn this around - how many members would have been happy to have a Christmas Hamper, delivered to an older member of their family, a day after the agreed date ?
Christmas isn't just 1 day, it's a period, and, foolishly, i thought that prior organising, paying, and specifying a delivery on the 23rd would be enough time for a company to organise themself to honour it.

OP posted in the morning and when updating said it was delivered late afternoon, therefore it wasn't delivered before they started this thread.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -

No delivery, tracking showed still at depot day 4, eta would now be day 7. Actually delivered day 3.Not sure whether tracking is totally centralised or a combination of local management with courier. This may explain OPs issues?
I'll look at the tracking deets from M&S and DHL when the system shows that the delivery has happened - which as yet it hasn't.0 -

Delays happen at the best of times, even more so when systems and services are at or over capacity, one can either choose to understand and accept that, or choose to raise one's blood pressure, personally I choose the former.6 -
Sounds like a good ending to the story. Glad you got the hamper before Christmas!3

According to OP the delivery’s scheduled for tomorrow. Will they be as ‘incandescent with rage’ if a second hamper gets delivered 😏. If so, I assume it’ll be returned.0

I just clicked here as I assumed something tragic had happened, due to the incandescent with rage issue
I have to be honest, I laughed at the content of this. Just...wow.

At least you received your delivery. I know somebody who had their ASDA delivery cancelled at 6pm on the 23rd December and were told their payment would be refunded in 5 working days. They didn't have enough money to be able to buy the food and get the refund at ASDAs convenience and had to borrow in order to have food over Christmas.
