I love the linen dress and necklace too Miro
That was a stroke of luck Nelliegrace, what were the odds of that?!I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.6 -
Beautiful necklace, @Miró, and the dress too - well done.
I went to Bedale, probably later than you, but didn't buy anything - got treated to a downpour and some spectacular skies instead!
@Nelliegrace, I had a similar curtains find years ago, isn't it a great feeling! The curtains I bought have been in use for years now and they are still favourites. Unlike yours, mine weren't new when I got them so they've done very well (a Sanderson fabric so I doubt I would ever have afforded them new).
@Coxy11, what a lot of M&S all in one go! The ones I've bought generally become wardrobe staples as they do their research on the great British public and what fits us (how this works I don't know because I'm shorter than most but it still works on me). Sorry to hear about your CK mug, though.
Talking of crockery, the Age Concern in Bedale has a lot of Denby Oyster for £69.99 if anyone's interested.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I had another lovely half hour browsing the chazzers yesterday afternoon. In the first I bought a book (dear at 70p but I wasn't going to find it again), some suction hooks to create my kitchen disco, a pair of jeans and a blouse - total £6.70.
I went to the next which is a furniture shop, and bought a couple of satin cushions (£2 total) which will be perfect for the art deco seats that I plan to buy for my hallway when on offer. They look good but I cannot imagine they are comfortable to sit on. But as they are reserved for doffing and donning shoes, its no big deal.
And in the third: a blouse, 4 scarves inc 2 BNWT, 2 melamine trays and a cast iron letter rack similar to the image that will match my recipe holder perfectly, all bundled together for £5:
Inspired by my virtual chazzer-buddies, I am back on the lookout for some more curtains so I can dress the last room on the list. Currently a glorified storeroom! No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.10 -
I am going to have a bit of a chazzer-moan whilst I'm here. Yesterday 2 things detracted from the experience in chazzer 1: a dog on a long lead and kids out of control. I don't mind well-behaved dogs and I love kids, however spirited they appear to be. Just not when they are under my feet, tripping me up and generally detracting from the chaz experience. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

closest I've come to a chazzer is to go on to fleabay to look at art supplies. wondering about spending £70 for a tin of 24 watercolour pencils but these are absolutely top brand 100% recommended ones that normally sell for much more if you can find them anywhere in the country. I did do some bidding on other lesser grade sets but lost and then spotted some interesting gray tint water soluble ones (another tin of 24) with an asking price of £30 plus postage. Ended up agreeing to buy them for a total of £30.20. Again about 30% less than if bought new from the shops. So a lot of money compared to others buys but it makes me happy to have fun things - now I just need to ensure I use them!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Another splurgy day today, this time in Northallerton. BHF shop unearhted a pair of b/n FlyFlots for £7 and then in another (?) chazza a b/n Coast dress, a midi length navy patterned shirtwaister with pleated skirt for £12.50. The dress has no hanger appeal at all but here are the shoes…..
Note to self…time to donate more than I buy!!!

I once saw a sign stating in large capitals , about a foot high, Beware of Wild Children. In England. Like you,Rosa and Wondercollie, I can’t abide out of control children.5

Giggling children is one of the best sounds in the world! But I agree that they should be kept under control (more than they sometimes are these days).
Where I used to work I put up a sign saying "Any loose children will taken into the office, fed a mug of coffee and promised a pony before being returned to you. Yes, really".
It did have a bit of an effectI'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.11
