It's just so hot! And muggy... but it's due to rain later. Maybe we should have a Vale of York Riviera?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Me. OK in Lancashire but we didn’t come by the “wetly green” nickname by accident yet this year I’m growing citrus plants. From seed. Lemon, mango, kumquat, tangerine - what survives winter will be fascinating but the windowsill looks tropical & I’m thinking a string of beads & a grass skirt might be cooler than the T & baggy trous my sons require of me as a minimum…

I'm very happy with what I found in Sue Ryder today: four small pieces of old Denby for £7.50. Perfect condition, too. Three are Homestead (cream jug, storage pot with lid and sugar bowl) and one is Bourne. The Bourne has a white lining and looks like a large mustard pot, so it could be missing a lid, though there's no sign of a lid having fitted on the rim. The lidded pot has the cream interior so I'm guessing it's wartime, but the condition looks far too good to be so old.
No picture, sorry: I can't get the blue interiors to show up without the brown outside looking black.
Anyway, I'm a very happy bunny, as I've got quite a few pieces of Homestead already.
The sugar bowls (I now have two) are perfect for granola - if you put the recommended portion in an actual cereal bowl it tends to look a bit stingy!
And as for the Vale of York Riviera, it's having a go at being the Vale of York rainforest right now.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I used to do this a lot for clothes.
I'm ashamed to admit that as my style has developed I now opt for Vinted, as there are very specific things I am looking for.
Maybe I should try my hand at this again...I might find some gems.8 -

The charity shop gods were smiling on me today. New in box alarm clock and a lightly used DAB radio out of box both for £5. The radio was £30 new!!My alarm clock has died and I’m trying to keep my phone away from my bed. DSis was talking about a radio for work so that’s both of us happy.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)
