A good find at a church hall table top sale today. DH dropped one of my large glass sweet shop jars years ago, and I got another one for £1. Once more I have one for porridge oats and one for jumbo oats.10

sorry to have to ask but what's the difference other than size? I seem to just use whatever oats (or barley flakes) are in the cupboard for whatever I'm making at the time. (except for frying mackerel, that gets the tidiliest we have and I might even put those through a processer if they look too big)Nelliegrace said:Once more I have one for porridge oats and one for jumbo oats.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. There's a massive Sue Ryder place between Ormskirk and Burscough -more or less a warehouse.DigForVictory said:
I certainly was, and I struck seriously lucky but then there was a Booths And a Costco as well. If youngest does go to Edge Hill, he may well get visited a bit more! Heavens no! Booths very strictly for loyalty discounts & other discounts but also for their bags which solve my gift wrapping challenges.Floss said:I wouldn't recommend student food shopping in Booths!
It is along from a Sue Ryder warehouse which has a lot of glorious stuff, including a Bourne (pre-Denby) jelly mould…5 -
Good fun yesterday finding lots of things at Thirsk car boot sale. I don't feel guilty spending more than the £10 a week I loosely allocated to myself, as we missed both boot sales last week and the Bedale one yesterday morning, and I not only bought quite a few things but I resisted some, too.
Haul:
Chambray dress (Italian) £1
White tee shirt, ASOS £1 (this was on my wish list)
Blue and pink cotton jumper, M&S £2
Two clip-lid bottles, £1 each (also from my wish list).
2 David Winter ornaments, £3 (I was going to sell them on as they used to be collectable but they would cost a lot to post and have gone off the boil, so they may be donated).
Carrying case for small cakes £2
Toys for DGD £2
Cushion (feather cushion in a cover that matches the lounge, currently online as part of a set of covers) £2.

I used to have about 9 or 10 of his cottages 35+ years ago... I know how long ago as I remember having to move them out of child-reach as eldest used to drive his Matchbox racing cars around them in an English version of the Monaco grand prix 😳😂Cherryfudge said:2 David Winter ornaments, £3 (I was going to sell them on as they used to be collectable but they would cost a lot to post and have gone off the boil, so they may be donated).2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

@Brie I use fine and medium oatmeal, porridge oats, and jumbo oats, they all make porridge, but have different textures. Staffordshire oatcakes need fine oatmeal, medium for herrings fried in oatmeal, or added to crumble mix, jumbo oats make good flapjacks.
We have muesli or porridge most days, and don’t buy any HPF breakfast cereals.

Aren’t these beautiful?
I put them in my watch list, and this morning there was an e-mail from the seller offering a lower price. My oldest sister was enthusiastic about hankies for her birthday.

I have a lot of that style that were my mum's, she didn't like using them as the lace was scratchy & wouldn't soften, no matter how many times they were washed & ironed. I can remember giving her some of them for what became her last Christmas in 2004.Nelliegrace said:Aren’t these beautiful?

Oooh, linen! (I can take or leave lace, but I come over all a bit unnecessary about linen.) I think it's a glorious fibre/fabric & i hope the lucky owner appreciates them!6
