Totally agree, not on the girth and not on charity shops but my local supermarket has yellow stickered items down so low I have to do a squat. One of these days I will be unable to get back up!Brie said:
OH's biggest harrumph is that the LPs are always on the bottom shelf which as he always points out is impossible for vinyl collectors of a certain age (& girth).6 -
Another that can't be bothered with charity shops which don't sort books alphabetically. It's too much hassle to find anything I want to read.

I've been known to put things back where they should be.YoungBlueEyes said:I’d actually offer to organise and sort them for free if I thought I wouldn’t get stared/laughed at as some sort of OCD freak with nothing better to do…. 🤪
I've yet to arrange the whole lot, but that day may come... I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

I've done that occasionally. While himself is looking at a book (he has to consider and practically read the whole thing before he buys it), I might put a few back to where they should be..... You know, just so I'm not loitering.
It occurred to me last night - and I don't know if this is gonna make me sound like a total loon, but - while books slung onto shelves is just wrong and makes my brain itch, books slung onto a table is fine. Like in a supermarket or bank or wherever? I'll happily peruse those and put back what I don't want (neatly, obviously)."One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate change policy is environmental policy. Instead, climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world's wealth." - Ottmar Edenhofer, IPCC economist, interviewed at COP163 -
Had a rather extravagant chazza day yesterday....spent 20p on a knitting pattern! Now need to find some chazza wool to actually knit it.
Re books - hope the chazza shops are well prepared for the avalanche of copies of 'Spare' that is about to hit

I got sent two copies of Spare when I have lost all interest in reading it now anyway! I only paid for one from Amazon as I checked.
I have been decluttering like crazy as we are getting our house decorated this month.
I was trying to not buy anything from a charity shop this whole month, which I suppose I have broken as today I bought a tiny chest of drawers from a secondhand furniture shop today for £10! Oh well. There is this annoying alcove in my house and when I went in there to donate some furniture I saw it and thought, hmm, that would fit. It fits exactly in that space.:)
One thing I want to keep an eye out is for some "new" matching plates. I might look later this week.6 -
I had a lovely little haul this morning, though I resisted an Emma Bridgewater bowl for DD and a particular cookery book that's similar to some I already have.
Children's book in new condition (for DGD) 99p, Age Concern.
Gardening book and Deliciously Ella book £5.50, BHF
Laura Ashley bun tin (for a gift) £5.00, PDSAI think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I was at the hairdressers this morning so I thought I’d just have a look round a couple of charity shops. Only for a look cosI said I’m not buying anything ‘til I need something.Now. I did end up with a few things, but these haven’t been bought. They’ve been temporarily exchanged for money (cos they’ll be going back at some point, like 3-5 year ish 😆)
It’s not the clearest pic - the raincoat in the middle has wee ducks on it 😍 The Laura Ashley is a beautiful winter weight linen and the one on the left is a soft fleecy sort of material."One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate change policy is environmental policy. Just warn us in advance and I'll follow you to see where the Laura Ashley goes.YoungBlueEyes said:I was at the hairdressers this morning so I thought I’d just have a look round a couple of charity shops. Fab choices.
