SSE provide an apology over advertising

If you read through this board for long, you'll find out that the vast majority of those who are regular contributors do indeed have a strong interest in energy conservation - and better than average knowledge of the subject. Nobody has expressed an opinion on your book, or indeed energy conservation, in this thread though as far as I can recall - the topic of conversation was what Tim accurately described as a "non-apology" from SSE.

For absolute clarity - they are "sorry that you are unhappy" - not "sorry that we have caused you to be unhappy" or even "Sorry that we have done something which has made you unhappy"! That is not an apology - it is them wording a reply to you (or rather, a generic reply which has been sent to everyone who has contacted them with a similar complaint to yours) which is designed to give the impression of being an apology. Mind you - seems to have worked doesn't it!

If anything, it could perhaps be said that the letter was written by someone not unlike this mysterious book author too.
