SSE provide an apology over advertising
Thank you for your email,
I am sorry you are unhappy with contact from ourselves regarding smart metering. I have updated your account to stop futur contact via telephone and post regarding smart metering.
This will stop contact from us regarding smart metering for 12 months, we would then need to update this again after 12 months if you still wished for us not to contact you about smart metering.
I will also provide feedback to the business as to why you don't wish to be contacted. This helps the company improve service but also when and how we contact customers regarding smart metering.
Regarding your complaint in relation to OVO and SSE supplying renewable energy, what further action would you like us to take to be able to bring this matter to a close?
Kind regards

Suppliers are under direction from Ofgem to engage with consumers re the fitting of smart meters:

Rest assured, you will be contacted again. Remember, once your existing meters are deemed to be end-of-life, the supplier has a legal right to fit smart meters.2 -

I wonder if it is an economic decision by economists about buying the cheapest energy and seeing how energy is consumed rather than the end-of-life.0

And it was a very long phone call at the time.
So you will not necessarily be contacted again.1
