Tyres performed poorly in recent snow — get better summer ones or all-season?

  • I had 2 sets of wheels, alloys for summer & steel wheels for winter with proper winter tyres for work.
    Made me 3-5k a year more money when it snowed as was on double wages.
    Used a cheap brand called Goodride, never missed a day’s work in -15 and snow so deep I had to dig out the car doors.
    Climb in through the boot as doors were frozen shut.
    I would leave the winter tyres on every year until the wore out, then switched to summer wheels.
    Ordered up new winter tyres ready for November.

    Not needed winter tyres in the last 12 years.
