GWS dancemum. Sorry to hear about DS1's problems xx
"Slight" change of plan here this morning, as I had to go back to the wound clinic at the horse piddle in Millennium City. I now have a smart new dressing and strict instructions to return to them next week if it doesn't clear up in the meantime.
DDiL2 and DGS3+4 delayed their arrival for 3/4 hr and arrived here 2 min after we got home. They all joined in with prepping jacket potatoes and tuna mayo, and together made an excellent squidgy chocolate log to one of Delia's recipes. We ate half of it, and the rest will do for tomorrow evening's dessert, when K and her two girls are expecting just sausage and mash.
Because of all the rain, Rosie hasn't had a walk today, but I'll take her a little way down the lane tomorrow morning, weather permitting.

No Christmassy feeling here either, but quite happy to go with the thought of not being back to work for nearly a fortnight. I will need a couple of days to come down from the manic work pace, not helped by the auditors coming in on 3rd January, and it looks like they are sending the 10 year old. Or that may be my old age showing…😉. Rubbish news for your DS, dancemum, hopefully he can find another job in January x
YL, I know what you mean about having to get used again to having another body or 2 back in the house, but, like you, I am trying to go with the flow.
Iona - remember to take it easy, or my waggy finger will be out at you. Thank you for the utube link - I lost a whole evening exploring her videos! Many more to go, it seems.
Finished work early, have wrapped the couple of presents that were delivered yesterday, the last remaining 2 will be new year presents as they seem to be stuck in some postal / delivery network. DH and DD won’t mind. I did intend to clean the bathroom, but seem to have dropped that from my list.
Looking forward to a glass of wine or two, and maybe a film with DD this evening.

Hi all
Lovely day, treated DS to lunch at a posh farm shop near us and marvelled at the eye watering prices in their deli and butchery. Lots of ladies of a certain age in pleated tweed skirts, quilted jackets and sensible shoes doing their last minute shopping. I will stick with Lid@l I think.
Then we delivered presents to two lots of family and had fun getting my 2 year old great nephew completely hyped up, then got a big squishy hug and sticky kisses before we left.
Home now, more presents under the tree. DH is cooking dinner for himself and the boys, I am still full from lunch so will settle for poached egg on toast then probably snack all evening.
I do feel Christmassy now but I always end up feeling responsible for everyone else having a good time and I somehow feel like I need to make everything "perfect" so I am resisting that. It will be what it will be.9 -
I think I've let myself off the hook regarding 'perfect'. No-one knows I've got some homemade breadsauce lurking somewhere in the freezer so if I can't find it by turkey time they're unlikely to know they were supposed to have it. There will be lots of food, lots of wine for those that drink, and presents for everyone - anything else is a bonus. If anyone notices there's a lot of cat and doghair about, and dust absolutely everywhere, that's their problem. We're back from the farm with a turkey and all the last minute food shopping, which included a couple of vegan cheeses and some soya Lincolnshire sausage mix and some vegan chocolates. I bought a Big Issue from the chap outside Morribunds and he told me I was the first person who'd bought one that day. I think he's been there a while, poor chap. Tomorrow I need to mull some wine for our carol singing thing, make a vegan sausage plait with homemade vegan puff pastry, and get myself a bit more organised because I was very tense this morning before we left the house.I rather like Christmas Eve because it's the one day of the year I refuse absolutely to go out, and just spend it doing Christmassy things at my own pace.Better is good enough.9

Been wrapping presents now that my arm is much less painful (well shoulder) and delivering them, though some have been stuck in gift bags…I too have a stash. All s/h but it’s a ‘reuse’ so very Green.
I still have cards to write and deliver.
been to meet one of my oncologists…upshot is I’m to have 3 more chemo sessions with a different drug; this will mean I won’t complete until February.
Bedroom cleaned and all furniture back now. Went to Mr M as we didn’t get the cream for the dauphinois potatoes and picked up some ys meat…. DD has also flown
Dancemum…hope it’s a New Year New Start for DS

Morning all,
It’s a slow start to the day after many hours in the WAC. The best sleep was between 8-9am. Whoops.
1 x wm is on, and I have WULTD, from last night, but I watched a film with DD instead of putting the kitchen to bed. Another whoops.
DH has gone to Mr C, as there isn’t enough of one particular thing in the fridge. That is his opinion anyway, so he can get on with it.Stood on the scales this morning as I have no intention doing that again for a few days. They showed that I was 4lb heavier than I have ever been. Eek! Turned them off and on again, stood back on, 4lb lost. If only it were always that easy 🤣.
Had a lovely PM from a special flylady yesterday evening which I only saw today, and it brought tears to my eyes. You are such a lovely bunch and I’m glad to have you all in my life xx
Right, hard practical hat back on. I have a list. I am going to pootle about today. I have a bit of baking to do which will fill the oven in one shot, maybe even clean the bathroom. Presents are wrapped, I’m ready to batten down the hatches for a couple of days.
Have a good day all x8
