If the postman keep up their campaign, then perhaps they only have Capita and some leaflets to deliver in the future.

Stuff we used to get delivered by RM is now coming by courier, usually the next day rather than eventually.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

Just took our Xmas cards down - only got 8 in the post this year - most people sent greetings via email or FB Messenger - we won't be bothering sending cards next year !!

I had a letter this week, went online, declared I don't need one e,aik received confiming I have declared I don't need one.

I have to ask, does it matter if you don't have a TV though? Some people saying I don't have a TV - but you have the Internet - when I had a TV licence, I was watching live TV on my laptop - as I don't have any service (Sky, Freeview) connected to the TV.

Not in relation to having a TV licence.
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

  • I used to get threatening letters from TVL until I sent Capita a letter withdrawing implied right of access for their employees to my property. That was about 12 years ago, and it cured the problem.

The OP, like the Bee Gees way back when, 'started a joke'.

People misunderstood and now it seems to have fallen a bit flat.

It's a shame really because I thought the original post, with its cynical bent, was quite amusing.

    Happy New Year, everyone.

For the avoidance of doubt, can I say we haven't had a TV Licence for over 10 years and we haven't even got a television.

When you first cancelled the licence you will have being given a two year period when you won't receive any letters but if after 22 to 23 months you don't renew the NLR declaration then the TV Licence letters will begin coming at regular intervals, roughly every 4 weeks,  I can only assume that TVL are strapped for cash and not pursuing as vigorously as they once was.
Someone please tell me what money is

Maybe they're preparing for their annual "check out the universities" project, where they park those ridiculous vans up on campuses etc.
