  • Haha if I could remember what it all went on I'm sure you'd be mostly right!  :D

I had to post - I just found £100 cash back sitting in Top Cashback for the broadband switch! Wahoo! Not sure how long it'll take to transfer to the bank but I'm very happy as that might just mean I can get rid of the first debt in January!  B)

Spent quite a bit today - food for Christmas and some bits needed in Superdrug. I did exit Smiths and went to Card Factory instead to save a couple of pounds though - rather proud of that  :D

Last morning of work today too, until the New Year. Absolutely SHATTERED and so grateful for the rest now (for 24 hrs at least  :D)

    Great news on the cashback.

I'm with you on the toaster budget too.

  • Hi @lucielle! I have NO idea!!  :D Lovely to have you here thanks for stopping by!

Christmas is officially done for me - everyone has gone and normal peace has resumed  :D Everything went well, no hiccups, no arguments... and no non-budgeted spending! I did spend a couple of vouchers I received within 6 hours of getting them, but that is entirely usual for me  :D

I have 4 days left in my budgeting month, and about £120 left of "discretionary" spending money left. I'm going to either London or Cambridge tomorrow for a solo chill-out, but will watch that I don't go mad. I DON'T NEED MORE CLOTHES will be the motto  :D

After that, I'm seeing friends Friday night so will need to bring a bottle or something like that. But apart from that, I expect to put a good £50+ of that towards the Argos card and get rid of that in January. That would just be brilliant psychologically  :)

I hope everyone survived (or thrived!) the past couple of days... missed saying hello to you  :)

  • Hi all!

Didn't go on the mini adventure in the end - I couldn't sleep and felt awful. I did pop in to town to meet my friend and collect the £240 owed though, so it was fruitful in the end! I'll pop to Cambridge on Saturday and pay it in the bank.

The £100 from Top Cashback also came through, woop! £25 went to the Emergency Fund, £75 to the Argos Card. If I used the £240 towards the Argos Card, plus what I have set aside in January for it anyway, it'll be paid off in full... which will just be great!

NSD today too, so should finish the month with a bit left over than expected  :)
  • Just wanted to say well done and keep going - really enjoying your diary and it’s helping me stay focused! Happy new year!
2024 - happy, healthy, quality over quantity, buy nothing new (and 2nd hand only if NEEDED), mindful spending, nurturing myself and family, living for now.

Mortgage @ 31/12/23 £248k - too high, interest rate gone up - want this down asap!
    Debt @ 31/12/23 £16k - no interest - will clear over 5 years hopefully.
Emergency savings £4k - been ransacked over last year - needs attention :-(
  • Ahh thank you @I_want_a_baby - that's made my day! ☺️

Happy new year to you too!

Oh wow £120 left over for the month is good! I had £1.35 😆 good result getting the 240 back that would be a good feeling completely paying the Argos card off!
