Ah thank you Sarah! It's very kind of you to say hello, I appreciate it.
Selling is a good idea. I don't really have a lot of things, but I am building up to a declutter so that's definitely something I'll keep in mind as I look around.
Nice to meet another YNABer too! I feel you on the price. My thinking is to get used to how I use it, and then I'll build my own hodgepodge thing that covers the features I find useful. Their marketing, especially Youtube, has really helped enjoy getting in to the mindset though I have to say2 -
Good that all the spending is planned this weekend and I must admit I googled the John Berger book. It looks interesting. Even better you have managed to pay off a chunk of the Argos card. As @AntoMac says you will soon be under £10k which will be really motivating for you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I hadn't considered the sub-£10k mark, but now it has been mentioned I am rather excited. There's a chance I'll get there before the end of the year, with a couple of payments due before then, which is exciting!
Today was a NSD as expected, I've been to the bin and backBut a £61 direct debit to Barclaycard did come out today so that felt positive.
Tomorrow I'll need to go to the supermarket so won't be a strictly NSD, but I'll go with at least a semblance of a list which is a newer habit for me. I don't drive so it does keep the spend down by the restriction of carrying it home, though
I spoke to a friend about £250 they owe me today, which should be coming back next week, so that will be nice to play with. I'm thinking of putting £175 towards debt, and £75 to the "emergency fund" / getting a month ahead in YNAB.
Thanks for coming back to the thread @enthusiasticsaver - lovely to see you again2 -
Great news on the £250 coming back to you. It all helps especially at this time of year.

I'm afraid my newly-found organisation worked against me this time - I bought it too long ago1 -
Always a good idea to have some kind of emergency fund if you can. Even 500 is a good place to start in an emergency. Have you looked to see if you can sell the book? Do you have others you could sell? Surprising how quickly small amounts build up*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200
*Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
*Natwest - £1828.35 -£0.00
Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £0.00
Creation Finance - £960.32 £840
*Total debt - £8040/£11641.17*
Savings
*Savings Buffer - £100/£1500
*Emergency Fund - £1500/£1500

Thank you Sarah and Holmes, really appreciate your support!I'm building an emergency pot, and have around £500 ish towards it right now (can't check exact amount right now). I'm working to cover my fixed, no choice expenses for 3 months which will be £3600 ish, depending on whether they are Council Tax months or not
Good news today that I forgot to mention - no Council Tax payment next month as they've applied the single occupant discount and backdated to Sept 1st, so I'm all paid up and have £60 credit towards next year! A great help 😊3 -
