It’s terrible! Have followed your advice and filed a complaint directly with CEL via their complaint policy page form

Here we go, on the case .....
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Thanks!

Calling @Umkomaas to add you to the Disco thread re the DCBL Legal discontinuance!

Re the latest clueless crap from CEL, here's one exactly the same:

Do the CEL complaint first and threaten to report them to the SRA, the BPA and the ICO.

And to the DVLA for breach of the KADOE contract; using the personal data twice.

Just to update, CE responded to the online complaint with:

We confirm our letter dated 21/05/2024 was in fact sent in error. We kindly ask for you to disregard this letter, as we are not pursuing this matter any further.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

no mention of the two letters they sent back in November, after the case was already discontinued..

Same as happened in the other case.

Not good enough. I bet there's a batch of these.

I wonder how many more victims are involved and maybe have moved and are not seeing the letters, and will get a CCJ this year, for a case already defended and won last year?

This was exactly my thinking when I received the letters, there’s bound to be lots of other people receiving these who wouldn’t notice that it’s for the same incident - or don’t have the old paperwork anymore

Please could you pm this new poster:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/80826722/#Comment_80826722

And also this person whose thread I linked before, I think:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6530544/defended-my-case-successfully-to-receive-further-pcns

The latter has an ongoing DVLA complaint ref and name of the person investigating.

I know yours is cancelled now, but I think your case should be mentioned by the other 2 posters in complaints to the DVLA and ICO, and that you should also tip iff the DVLA that this data breach by CEL is rife.

I think you should all share your experiences and when that new poster complains to the DVLA, BPA and ICO, I think he/she should mention your cases, so CEL can't pretend it's a one-off.

Some victims not on MSE are going to get CCJs as a result of this multi-case data breach.  All it will take is if some victims have moved house after winning in court, then CEL will get CCJs for cases they shouldn't even still be holding the data for, let alone processing it.

Please unite all your cases so the DVLA, ICO and BPA all know that this significant keeper data breach affects lots of cases (this forum only sees the tip of the iceberg) and that action is needed to identify all cases and prevent CCJs.  CEL could get a DVLA ban...
