Ovo January price rise email

It's an interesting complaint for sure - "my price is changing from the October government cap that I have paid since October, to the January government cap that I will pay from January"5

To be accurate, that article should have said "on average, there'll be no change in January for those paying single-rate dual fuel tariffs by direct debit".SnakePlissken said:
Though "On average, there'll be no change in January for those paying by direct debit" doesnt explain why for E7 users paying monthly DD the price is rising.streeve said:0 -
My electricity unit rate is decreasing in january?0

That is bonkers some have rate rise and others a rate decrease.Helen_ said:My electricity unit rate is decreasing in january?
There appears to be no rhyme nor reason to this.
But E7 customers appear to be penalised.
Can you confirm if your on E7 rate or not?

The price is going up because of changes in the split and changes to the underlying rates which are then reduced by the subsidy mechanism.SnakePlissken said:

Different E7 rates from different suppliers in different parts of the country. Different supplier's have different rates, the same suppliers have different rates in different regions. E7 is one of the few tariff where one can make significant savings by changing suppliers if they have a large difference between day and night usage.SnakePlissken said:
