"your name (or your partner’s) is on the bill"
Seems you have been misinformed.
Let's Be Careful Out There1 -
They said its a mistake on the letter and online and there Clients DWP told them to say this?0

I replied on the energy board but for anyone else in doubt, presumably you're claiming UC jointly, so with you both on the UC claim and your wife on the electricity account I can't see why there would be a problem.0

My wife is not claiming UC only me. I recorded the call and they said it has to be my name only on the Bill.0

They told me there Clients told them to say this? Is it possible the company "Warm Home Discount scheme" is pulling a fast one by trying to put people of when they are entitliled?0

If you're living together then that can't possibly be correct. UC is a means tested benefit and when you live with a partner you claim as a couple.May1111 said:My wife is not claiming UC only me.

Do you and your wife live apart? If not, you need to be claiming together, unless she is here on a visa with a NRPF condition.May1111 said:My wife is not claiming UC only me. I recorded the call and they said it has to be my name only on the Bill.
Regardless, HillStreetBlues already linked to the government site which shows your spouse's name being on the bill is fine0 -

Even then they would still need to claim as a couple but they wouldn't receive any extra money for the partner if they have NRPF.

Oh dear. In that case the WHD may well turn out to be the least of OP's worries.0 -
Yes Hillstreet is correct but the helpline is not telling this to people they are saying it has to be th eperson on the Letter. They also said the letters are wrong? I am trying to find out who is correct the goverment or the Company "Warm home Discount scheme" as it calls the Gov its Clients ? And they informed me there Clients told them to say Only the Person on the letter has to be on the Bill.Happy to share the recording as seems like a scam to keep money that should be paid to people like me,?0
