Diving right in after several months of intermittent activity.
Tomorrow its a trip to the CS with several bags and I am going to arrange a trip to the tip as the side of my house looks like a dumping ground.
DD and her BF is visiting over the weekend so clearing the guest room is my priority.
Good news also in that I will be doing less child care hours from next month which will help energy levels and give me time to do what I need to do.

Cleaning the sofas and windowsills tomorrow, but very happy with the progress here this month.Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Mrs SD, you are so good at saying the right thing, hugs and the tlc carriage helping !
Dd2 sent me her reading list of novels and we have some of them so decided to post. Lovely man at the post office pointed out my box was a medium parcel so more expensive so he rummaged and found me a different shaped one and taped the bottom for me and then an American couple heading home but wrapping something to post back gave me tape to seal it. How nice 9am in central London. Gives you hope!
Added some extra books to the parcel. Forgot Monday gave dd1 a yoga mat bought for her but half dozen packaging material as she's selling things and last week gave her whiteboards so have been few things out. Also went through frog for dd1 and emailed about it. Work taking over but as working at home hoping to use ' travel time' to declutter !

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Forgot to mention that DSis finally got her scan after much faffing about - they couldn’t find her records on the system 🙄 So did I do anything today apart from watching episodes of Silent Witness……………. yes, about 90 minutes of sorting paperwork 😉 Everything is now in its correct folder but I wasn’t very brave about thinning out the contents 😔 Only 0.5” of shredding & one brochure recycled - although it is a start 😉 Dinner was cold pork, chips & beans for DH & DSis. I had a fried egg sandwich. Wudupa
2057 - 2060 Kitchen recycling, magazine, A4 booklet, drinks cans - recycled
2061 - 2062 Kitchen detritus, 0.5” shredding - binned
QueenJess, sorry to hear that work is ‘mental’ rather than just busy 😔 It sounds like you are very well thought of by your colleagues if they keep asking for your help 😊 Well done on keeping up with your daily decluttering 👏 I am sending a quick 🦵 up the jacksie for DH 😉
DundeeDoll, excellent work decluttering the front garden 👏 Sounds like you & your mum have a busy Sunday ahead of you 😉 Keeping my fingers crossed that the weather is dry on Sunday so the shed can be decluttered 🤞
Siebrie, good luck with the re-training of your husband 🍀 Hopefully you won’t have to get the whip out 🤞🤣 I feel your frustration re the tools & tool boxes- you have probably taken years to build up good quality toolsets only to have your husband destroy any semblance of order 😖 It does sound like he doesn’t have a practical bone in his body 😔 Re your last comment “As another example of my frustration: do you know these sets where you have 1 handle and then several bits to put on top, that come in a holder by size? He removes those from the holder and chucks them in the toolbox, throwing away the holder. I just don't understand! Why purposely make everyone's life 20 times harder? Chores can be fun if you find the tools quickly, just 5-minute jobs that give satisfaction.” I absolutely agree that any chore is made easier & quicker with the correct equipment 🥳
GrannyKate, sorry to hear that your poor DGS4 is still so poorly 🤒 I am enjoying the Amanda Burton series but she seems to make the same mistakes over & over & also appears to have been directly responsible for several unnecessary deaths & I am only on Series 3 😬 Excellent decluttering 👏
Oops just seen the time 😬 I will try harder with the cheerleading tomorrow 😉

Morning all
5 decluttered items so far. I sorted DS' room out not long ago, making one pile of boxes and toys to go through with him. This hasn't happened as secondary school start has exhausted him. But this morning I pulled out 5 'definitely outgrown' items and put them in the charity bag. If I aim to get rid of 1 item from it every time I go upstairs, that should chip away at it.
Need to declutter the job list items of washing my sofas and dusting
Wondering if I can persuade Mr Flamingo to do a small tip run tomorrow before we go to my mum's for an early bday lunch (I'm 40 on Saturday). I could call it a bonus bday giftMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger Thanks for DH medal, I made him one in the colours on the post and found 2 pens from the pot not working. He was a happy chappy for the day.
@Liverpool_Anne thanks for the Slow declutter link - that is so me, There is more of it to read through at a later date.
@vulpix I am so with you with the under the kitchen sink stuff. I delcutter/decant like with like to get a bottle for throwing out as a reward early doors as a starter/ re-boot of action. I get excited/look forward to UU contents then get rid of another bottle. Weird I know but its what makes the world go round.Dad had asked me to clean his glasses so I used the window/glass cleaner at theirs as they had no glasses cleaner, he was very impressed with the finish so we will do that again and he's happy he won't have to buy any special cleaner, I will be doing the same on mine too (they are not coated in any special finishes). Win win.
@flamingo747 have you done a budget for your finances? I started saving in pots it can take a bit to get into a good habit. I love app based bank accounts as it is easy and very quick to check anything, you also see straight away all your efforts (no matter how small) start to build up. Good luck.
@Siebrie Absolutely makes common sense to me. I'd just keep your own organised toolbox way away from husband

@2Scratters Mr Flamingo does the budget, but when we had more disposable income we were putting some each month into savings pots within my banking app. But with everything having gone up, and HMRc taking back £60 a week they say was overpaid last year, there's no a lot left over. However, we do spend more on food than we ideally would, and lately we've been travelling around more and buying stuff in the services, as well as more takeaways. It's definitely our problem areaMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Morning all. DGS4 still at home with me but hoping he manages to eat today (and keep it down!). Quite chatty which is a good sign but no school until Monday now.
1283 Went through saved email folders - 250 deleted as no longer required
1284 The rest of a collection of late DH's passwords checked and not needed so in shredding pile
1285 Attended webinar on line
1286 Popped into school to return item and collect others
1287 Small frog dealt with which should generate a refund
1288 More tree pruning crammed into bin before it was collected this morning.
I found another 'spare' notebook which is A4 size so that will probably take me 6 months to use up. I think I'm gradually running out of them. House feels generally sticky and cluttered but I will leave it until after small people have left.2025 Decluttering Campaign 853/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Hi, Jolly birthday greetings chums.Boxes emptied and 13 boxes collected and gone forever. Most things put away. This may not be their permanent home in the kitchen but they are away. Some stuff shoved in a kitchen cupboard because I hadn’t sorted it and Wednesday my lady comes to clean. I have been fairly ruthless and lots more things for the charity shop box. Mostly ornamental things. One is an old trug type wooden box that belonged to my grandparents. I like it, it is sentimental but I just don’t have room in this house.Mr V brought me 4 banana boxes in from the insulated shed last night. A box of books I have no clue.A few to the chazzer. A lot are children’s books which will eventually be filtered through to Master Vulpix. There is Mr V’s family bible. It is massive. None of his children want it. I don’t know why we are keeping it. Box of books will have to go back in the shed for now.Today I will go through the other boxes, and get the stuff out of the cupboard that I hid in there.I know that I will have to go through everything again at a later date as I am just filling the kitchen just now and only ousting obvious things.I bought myself some plants from Aldi yesterday.Total 974Vx:18

I love your new plants Vulpix. That family bible is exactly the sort of thing I find it impossible to get rid of!Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.
