Cute robin. It looks beautiful where you are.:)
I dropped off the donation bag to the local homeless charity shop just now. I did take a look around at the clothes, but I didn't see anything I liked.
I have been using up toiletries as well. I still have too many hair products so I need to start using them up every time I wash my hair. I have lots of detangling sprays. I am burning the end of a vanilla candle today.
My husband forgot to put out the rubbish and recycling this week even though I reminded him. He thought it was the wrong day as well so that is fairly annoying as we will have loads of rubbish to put out next week!
We did manage to declutter an eye watering amount of money buying tickets for The Weeknd for next month and Taylor Swift for next year.2025 GOALS

More eye watering amounts of money decluttered here. For my own enjoyment as it's art supplies. But I'm determined there's going to be a bit of the 1 in, 1 out as I'll be able to get rid of some cheaper items that essentially I've upgraded... but even with that thought my wallet did rather squeak!!
OH has been doing well. Went through a load of his shirts and had asked me what to do with them - I said put them in one of those many charity bags that come through the door, sling them in my car and I'll drop them off. Suddenly they have simply vanished!! When I got home from work earlier this week he'd mentioned he'd done some tidying - so shirts gone, empty boxes from car port. More importantly he's got someone coming to look at MiL's motorised scooter and hopefully the chap may be interested in some of the other bits and pieces of mobility stuff we've got as he appears to be the second hand mobility business. It will make a big difference to the car port and then we can cascade with other stuff by clearing the garage.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Just a quick post so I don't forget later @~FlowerPot~ we have had to home Ed DD2 and she's going to start some iGCSEs with the £2 tuition hub on FB. Their website is down at the minute as she's updating the subjects for September but it took us over a week to be accepted in to the group. We haven't tried any of the lessons yet but might be worth a look at for you.
Only lots of money decluttered here yesterday. Holiday booked and I bought a Ninja in the prime deals.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday has been a very damp day, interspersed with the odd period of brilliant sunshine & no rain - sometimes all three at once 😬 My leaving my visit to the bathroom until 01:00 didn’t have the desired effect 😔 I was up at 03:00 then again at 05:30 but then slept through until 08:15 🙂 DH had one visit at 06:00 - safely negotiating the stairs with no mishaps 🥳 practically everything packed before we went down to breakfast at 09:00. Full breakfast for DH & one for me but without the egg, tomatoes or black pudding. Still plenty on the plate - bacon, sausage, potato cake, mushroom & haggis 🤤 Also had toast & marmalade + 2 cups of coffee each & juice. Returned to the room & did the last bit of picking. Sent DH down the stairs with my helmet & one bag then I sent the coats & one bag sliding down the stairs 😉 I went down carrying the bag for life with all the breakable stuff 😅 Got to reception & DH ended up chatting to a Danish couple whilst I put my coat on & carried out the 3 bags (& had a ciggie) There was some delay before DH managed to pay the bill but we set off about 10:10 in the rain. Then rained for about an hour & yes we did get wet. Then settled down to 15 minute bursts of rain interspersed with 15 minutes of sunshine & blue sky until 12:15 when we stopped at Morries in Inverness for petrol & ciggies for me. Headed off to Ardesier in the dry, took the photo, got back onto the A96 & stopped at a burger van with a picnic area & 3 monuments about RAF Forres. The lady in the van was brilliant + her food & drink was wonderful - bacon roll for DH, hm chocolate cake for me & cappuccinos + I fell over at how reasonably priced it was 😉 Whilst we sat & ate & drank the sun was beating down onus from a clear blue sky 🥳 That lulled is into a false sense of security which was shattered 10 minutes later when the heavens opened & it rained consistently for the next hour - falling so hard that the rain was bouncing at least 6” 🌧️ I got the last 2 landmarks of the day & then we headed to our hotel in Ballater feeling very sorry for ourselves as we were wet through 😔 Arrived at 17:15, checked in & in our room by 17:30. The Balmoral Arms is rather a grand hotel - even has a Boot Room 😉 We are on the first floor but the staircase is quite wide with low height steps think almost grand staircase 😅 Lovely room & the bathroom is part of the room 🤣
We stripped off our wet riding gear, I dried off & got changed then I took trousers & coats to the Boot Room & the concierge turned on the heating 😁 Will be lovely to set off tomorrow in dry gear 😊Service was quite slow at dinner as only one member of staff 😔 We shared a starter (salmon & cream cheese 😋) & a cheeseboard (the blue cheese was delicious 😋) DH had a T-bone steak with triple cooked chips - cooked perfectly & melt in the mouth. I had venison pie with broccoli & mash. The gravy in the pie was the star - enhanced the venison. Oh, before I forget there was a trio of folk musicians serenading us throughout dinner. A violinist/fiddler, a guitarist & the third chap played both violin/fiddle & mandolin depending on the tune being played 😊
Highlights of today - we saw a field full of deer (the sad part being that they were obviously farmed rather than wild). A mummy duck with her 8 or 9 ducklings crossing the road in front of us & most bizarre sight a gentleman on a penny-farthing (not wearing a helmet)😳 I collected my trousers from the Boot Room as they are dry & we were back in our room by 22:00. Tomorrow we are off to Perth & then staying in a Holiday Inn in Perth.
Pics tonight would have been 1. The front of our hotel 2. DH’s T-bone 3. My venison pie. Unfortunately either poor Wi-Fi or MSE is not working 😉😉
I will try to do a bit of cheerleading now so that I am not so far behind when we get home 😉
Excellent & eclectic decluttering GrannyKate 👏
charlies_tribe, as your DH has done so much work in the garden over the last 4-6 weeks, I am awarding him a 2nd Gold Star ⭐️ Excellent decluttering 👏means that you have also earned a Gold Star ⭐️ for reaching 1596/2023 🥳
Wow weenancy, fancy the public library having to put a hold on donations 🤩 That is a lot of books - do you think maybe lots of people are decluttering? Good luck with the ‘flash sales’ 🍀 Excellent decluttering - seven boxes of books OUT & only One book brought IN 👏 Keep up the great work weenancy 😊
TC77, overall we did have a pretty good journey to Scotland 🙂 Your trip back from the New Forest sounds a bit grim - presumably heavy traffic and/or roadworks 😔 Pleased to hear that although you brought back some items from your Dad’s house most are not staying with you 👏 Very nice to hear that DD1 has offered to help you declutter for a day 😊 but hopefully once she starts she will offer up one day a month 🤞 especially if she doesn’t want to be in the same situation as you with your Dad’s house 😉 Good news that a new person had started work this week 👏 but not so good that a lovely colleague is leaving tomorrow 😔
Moorviews, you are in the right place to help you in your quest to declutter 😉 Decluttering to help out those who are still when you are gone is called ‘The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning’ 😅 Sounds grim but is in fact very practical 😊 Excellent decluttering Moorviews 👏 Remember the more you declutter, the more you will want to declutter & before you know it you will not only have clear spaces but will also want more clear spaces 😊 Keep up the good work 👏
QueenJess, I agree with Siebrie ‘a well thought out plan of attack’ & I wish you every success 😊Hopefully it won’t take years 😉
Siebrie, thanks for sharing such a great idea from your Mum 👏 worth a medal 🏅 which is on it’s way 😊
Floss well said 👏
Wednesday2000, sounds like you thoroughly enjoyed The Weeknd concert 😁 23,000 steps in a day 🤩 - you must have been exhausted 😥 Great decluttering with the clothes & good luck going through the wardrobes again 🍀 What a nice friend 😊 - hopefully you will have a clear garden 🤞
One more page caught up so I will sign off as I am nodding off 😉
Hope everyone had as good a Thursday as possible 😊
