I left the house at 14:15 & headed off to bus stop. I was very unlucky today as each time I needed to catch a bus I had to wait at least 5 minutes 😔 eventually got home about 4 p.m. So ignoring the time spent hanging around waiting for buses my 23 minute MMiM was quite successful:- banked cheques & withdrew some cash; then into Boots to check if Advantage card still active (I seem to remember it needs to be used at least once a year - so 2023 taken care of 😉) & check how much cash on a Gift Card - as there was money on it I spent half on a new hairbrush, a bag of bath salts (25% off at till 🥳) & a pack of hair elastics. Then bus to Tosco & used up a £20 voucher - tp, kitchen roll, some veg, tissues (normally wouldn’t buy) & a few other bits. Then the really long wait for a bus 😞 Got home, put everything away, made a drink, read my book for a while then my 2nd MMiM was writing a letter to my DB using my fountain pen 🙂 DH had gone to bed for half an hour which turned into almost 2 hours, so has headed off (18:30) on a 2nd walk in the dark & cold 🥶 - poor DH 😞 Got back about 19:30 & has passed his 11,000 target. Now upstairs warming up & waiting for his dinner 😉 I am a bit/lots late starting 😞
Forgot yesterdays numbers so

Excellent decluttering & tidying TC77 👏 Sorry to hear that you & both your girls are going through a rough time health wise & stress wise ☹️ Hopefully you can build up your Vit D levels & DD2 can build up her iron levels quickly 🤞 Sending you all lots of hugs & good wishes coming your way 😊 Hope DD1 gets a suitable flat soon 🍀
Will be back after dinner.

In the end I didn't do any sewing but started another book. I love reading.
Tomorrow is a busy day at SA but two days off have done me good.
I don't expect to get much if any decluttering done tomorrow.
Not sure about counting everything that goes out as I really need to get rid of stuff that has been lingering a while.Day 7 –

More underwear out - it all seems to be getting holey at the same time - and four books to the bookswap on Sunday. Weekend train strikes meant the platform was closed again, but I was going into Central London so hopped out at Wimbledon Park tube and left them at the smaller set of shelves in the waiting room there.
Also decluttered a frog and rang my employment agency about some money they owe me - I won't get into the whole spiel but basically last year's pay rise wasn't agreed until December but should be backdated to the start of the 2022 financial year in April. It took four weeks and a bit of chasing before my pay rate was changed going forwards, and I still haven't had the backdated money. Fingers crossed they get it sorted before the end of the financial year as I think that will probably complicate things even more.

Hi everyone
Mrs S_D THANK YOU for my medal, it is so motivating.
I've had a lot of 10 minute shredding sessions. I keep it at 10 mins as I do it by hand with scissors as my hands aren't in great shape. I've done 10 mins most days and after 10 sessions ALL the shredding is done. (I know it's a perpetual thing but the shredder bag is empty for the first time in ages and it feels great).
I've also blitzed the photo albums again and have another 2 empty albums to go to cs. The cs bag is filling up nicely.
I've got 2 fleecey jackets hanging up. Both the zips are broken but I keep them in case I need to nip to the shops quickly. However I only need one so one is going.
uud shampoo
uud facial oil
uud moisturiser
body polisher binned
8 plastic packaging bags used as rubbish bags
popped bubble wrap
plastic pump dispenser
broken plastic meter cover
8 toothbrushes
another windscreen scraper
100 mins shredding (counting as 10)
4 items darned
1 fleece jacket
5 prs socks
1 top
1 nightshirt
30 pieces of paper (counted as 3)
47 photos (counted as 4)
2 more maps recycled
2 clothes catalogues
4 more ice cream tubs
Keep going everybody.

I bought a large Next rug (brand new) from the CS for £10. I've needed one for the "office" as the painted floor has taken a real battering from DS & his computer chair. It does the job as a temporary measure. It does appear to be a hair magnet though so DS is under orders to keep on top of the cat grooming and hoovering. I've got a feeling it may not end up working so well but it was worth a punt for £10.
Laying the rug in the office meant lots of moving things around & I've put some things back elsewhere so it doesn't look quite so packed in there. It was a bit of an eye opener though as I think I kid myself that I haven't got too much to declutter but there's plenty in that room that could go if I was in the right mood.
Tasks:
Booked smear test
IN (running total 49)
50. Rug
OUT (running total 256)
257. Massive gift bag
258. Old plunger (ordered a new one)
259. Big wad of papers and brochures
260. Contact Lenses no longer needed
261. Wine glass
262. Teddy Bear

Evening All
Found the box with my parents photographs, some are in albums, some lose, some in those little paper folders, a real mess. There are quite a few that are bad photos, heads cut off, legs cut off, etc which I think I will bin. There are also quite a few photos of people who I do not know, they must be friends of my parents. Is it OK to bin/shred them, I feel bad, but I don't know them, is there anywhere that takes old photos and archives them for posterity?
Once I've got the ones I'm keeping I plan to put them in albums in a chronological order. At the moment the ones in albums are in a really random order and it's annoying me no end.
I also took the cat to the vet because he is sneezing and he's going into a cattery in a couple of weeks. A consultation and a course of antibiotics later and I've deluttered around £70!
I'm not convinced he has an infection, I think it's an allergy, but the vet wants to try antibiotics first and then a chest xray if it doesn't clear up to check for asthma.Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

Mrs SD thank you for best wishes, minor issues in the scheme of things but will be good to have more energy.
Few frogs done and realise I haven't done my nos for a few days so rounding to 400.
I and heard about standing on cardboard to reduce strain of a hard floor. I bought a rug for the dining room I think at Xmas and it's still in the wrapper! I am trusting I will get round to physical clutter soon with frogs the focus.
@Keiths_Mum I worry what to do with photos. If no faces ok to throw away/ bin but feel I shouldn't thrown away. I do wonder about burning as more respectful. I hate the idea of photos just being left for someone to find. Remember Dave Gorman making fun of some old photos he found and feel I owe for that not to happen
I had hoped to sort out photos but think this could be 2025!!15 -
Hi all, I haven't caught up yet, sorry, and I have taken some meds to help with the sinus pain and it is making me sleepy so I will catch up in the morning
Today it looked like the height of summer but felt like the arctic circle brrrr.
I cleaned the microwave and had general whizz around the kitchen,, it needs a proper clean but it didn't happen
I have been dealing with a few frogs today, managed to get an appointment with the chiropodist so 1 frog dealt with. I tackled another by sorting through some boxes. I have promised OHs sister that I will do a car boot with her in June so I looked through some boxes of stuff I had taken out of a unit to move into the back room but I am currently using the unit as a larder while my damp kitchen wall dries out. I now have half a banana box that I am happy to let go to the cs if they don't sell. I have another box with stuff that I want to keep and another box with stuff I need to revisit. In amongst it all I have a bag of rubbish. Some bits I am sure was stuff left by the electricians, a metal thing that looks like a big cable tie. I showed it to OH who promptly unscrewed a small bolt thing with a nut and said "keep that". It has gone in OHs junk draw and the rest in the metal recycling. I didn't show OH anything else, lesson learnt.I am going to try to go through some more stuff tomorrow so I can move another unit into the back room. The plan is to empty the front room so it can be decorated.
In between times I sat at the computer and deleted emailsSo
499 microwave cleaned
500 appt booked with chiropodist
501 boxes sorted
502 bag of rubbish to bin and recycling from boxes
503 - 508 6 x 100 emails permanently deleted
I am pleased with today as I actually got some physical stuff out of the house and I have got a quarter through my target

Not back quite as quickly as I intended because I decided to finish reading book 11 of The Shipyard Girls 🙂 The only trouble is I now only have one left to read as now at Christmas 1944 ☹️
Dinner was chicken pieces fried in a little butter, mash, sweetcorn & broccoli. Wudupa.
781 - 782 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
783 - 786 Kitchen detritus, old hairbrush* (missing bristles), non-elastic hair elastics, ood mini perfume - binned (* managed to find exact replacement)
Florenceem, from my pov I would always read rather than sew 😉 Very pleased that your 2 days off have done you good 😊 Hopefully your busy day at SA will be easier as you are rested 😊 Great decluttering 👏
Well done on finishing the ironing Muddy_Walker 👏
Great decluttering diminua & well done on tackling such an important frog 👏
You are welcome regnbue 🙂 Very MSE doing your shredding by hand 👏 Excellent decluttering & making great progress on all your mini targets👏 I am especially impressed with your NSDs 🙂
EnergyShifter, the £10 rug is definitely worth a go if it stops DS doing any further damage to the office floor 🙂 Excellent decluttering 👏
Good luck sorting the photos Keiths_Mum 🍀 Sorry to hear about your cat - hope the vet can sort out the sneezing & that it is nothing serious 🤞
TC77, might be minor in the scheme of things but both you & DD2 will feel so much better once your low Vit D & her low iron are sorted 😊 Re disposing of photos, please remember that burning may well release toxins so would need to wear a protective mask. A better option might be to shred them 😉
Liverpool_Anne, sorry to hear that the meds are making you sleepy, I just hope that they are helping with the sinus pain 🤞 Excellent decluttering & dealing with frogs 👏 Congratulations on passing the quarter mark to your target - one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way 😊
Off to bed now & hoping that tomorrow will be warmer 🤞
