Brie - we have lost two friends in a few weeks - one a bit younger and the other only 3 years older than me.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I officially have a sieve for a brain. I have kept up with you all, but promptly forgot who I was going to answer, so my apologies. Sorry to hear about your friend, @weenancyinAmerica. Good luck with the procedure, @GrannyKate. I can’t remember who mentioned it, but I am also a fan of Dana K, and especially her Container theory. I haven’t kept up with her for a while, mainly due to clinging on to this train!
I started my February decluttering journey by decluttering a tyre down a pothole. Not planned for my decluttering list. This evening I have turned out one of the drawers in my bedside table. It didn’t yield much this time round, but I possibly wasn’t wearing my brutal decluttering hat. I will revisit it another time.
Wrapped a birthday present up which will leave the house tomorrow. It was a pleasure to open the wrapping paper drawer easily and even better to be able to lay my hands on suitable paper straight away.
Just 1 item to declare - a lavender pillow spray that didn’t smell right, having found one that smelt much better in the bedside table drawer.17 -
Good luck to Mr Salad_dodger, but most importantly have as much fun as possible while completing your challenge.2024 decluttering Campaign

Apologies for very brief posts but am trying to keep posting things decluttered to try and make sure I am actually doing something.Wee Nancy - Sorry to hear about your friend.Vulpix - sounds like you are very busy with your renovations - hope it all goes well.Hugs to all.Today's little listOutA spinning topDried up highlightersSome little toysA cooking gadget still in it's packet which we were bought as a present and will never useAlmost declutteredHave realised that one of the ceramic pots in the bathroom which originally housed an orchid could be moved to the kitchen and I could put my spider plant (which was a baby from my Mum's) in it. Looks much better than just the little plastic pot. :-)2024 Fashion on the Ration - 3.5/66.5 coupons remaining1 cardigan - 5 coupons13 prs ankle socks - 13 coupons5 prs leggings - 10 coupons4 prs dungarees - 24 coupons1 cord jacket - 11 couponstotal 63 coupons17

Keiths_Mum, surely the scarf should have been counted as crocheting 😉 One belated ‘Sewing Badge’ 🪡 coming your way 🙂 Great paperwork decluttering 👏
Could have been considered crochet if the holes weren't big enough to get a baby's arm through.
Thanks for the belated sewing badge, sewing it onto my virtual Brownie uniform right now!
Second round of paperwork decluttering is still going well, shredded 9/10's of the first box, 99 pieces shredded today.Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

@weenancyinAmerica and @Brie sorry to hear about the loss of friends, I think sudden and unexpected deaths are so very difficult and almost need the time that you often have beforehand to prepare and you don't have that time to possibly see them.
Mrs SD, good luck to Mr SD and how sensible using this month to prepare.
Carpet down in my office, have hoovered and some left over carpet but have more left. DD2 hates it and thinks it looks as if someone has been ill, I think it's ok with cream walls and won't show the dirt too much. Spent evening cleaning kitchen including cooker (hob) . Impressed by the well ordered freezer, mine I open quickly and grab things before more things fall out!
A little paper declutter, also dishwasher person who said to add more salt, d/w tablets in their box as if they have dissolvable wrappers these absorb moisture and don't work as well and to descale more so we will see. Hunted for packaging so lots out, and few other small bits, and 4 items in CS bag,
Realise I didn't add nos yesterday so saying up to 220 !16 -
Just moved CS bag ready and passed bookcase and noticed 2 copies of a book so easy to add one of them 221, a small and easy win16

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Re search, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Forgot to mention that the veg box was delivered last night & for the first time I put everything away immediately - the fridge sort out helped because I didn’t have to cram things in 😅 A really good box this week - potatoes, shallots, sweet potatoes, swede, tomatoes, kale, Brussels sprouts & loads of carrots in place of aubergines 🙂
Thursday - I managed to be up & dressed by 11:15 a.m. to find both DH & DSis had been up for a while. DSis is doing her washing & DH has been out for a walk. Plan of action today is to complete yesterday’s undone tasks (catch up on the cheerleading whilst drinking my tea; put away freshly laundered clothing; write & address April to June birthday cards) PLUS - write a menu plan & a shopping list ✅; shred a huge pile of brown paper for worm bedding - HALF done; continue knitting the two tone scarf I started yesterday - THIRD Done. Wish me luck 🍀
Checked our Premium Bonds - DH won £50 & I won £75 (2nd month in a row) 🥳 DH headed off to sm 2:15 p.m. When he got back I put everything away. DH went out for a 2nd shorter walk. DS finished her washing & drying. Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & plum tomatoes. Wudupa. Now Friday 01:45 & am practically asleep without catching up on the cheerleading - so off to bed & will try harder when I get up 😉
434 - 436 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, cardboard box - recycled

TC77, good luck completing your mobile phone set up 🍀 Sorry to hear that you woke up feeling unwell yesterday & I hope you are feeling better today 🤞 Great work by you & DD2 in mostly emptying the office ready for the carpet fitter 👏 Not sure that the furniture moving coupled with the going out, dealing with paperwork & frogs should be classed as taking it easy 😉 Very kind of the librarian to waive the late payment fees 😊 Hopefully both the carpet fitter & the dishwasher repairman turn up early & can get their work done quickly so your day is not disrupted too much 🤞 Thanks for the praise but although I managed it yesterday prepping meals before cooking hasn’t become a habit ….. yet 😉
weenancy, hope the cats didn’t cause you too much damage 🤕 I see husky didn’t learn her lesson 😉You would have thought the city person could have spent a bit longer than 10 minutes - just to reward all your hard work corralling animals 😉 Hopefully the PT is continuing to help you 🤞Sorry to hear the news about the loss of your colleague. What an excellent & kind friend you are - taking the time & effort to inform the appropriate people of his next of kin. I am sure that they & his family are very grateful.
I will catch up, I will catch up 😉

Hi all, bit of a down day today, I heard this morning that a friend is in hospital so found a suitable card and posted it off c/o her sister to pass it on. Also posted off the parcel using up some of my stamps as the swap out form still hasn't arrived. Then I tried to tackle some more emails but it was slow going as I am now starting to have to read them and make some decisions but I did manage to file some in the correct folders, but too few to count. Tidied round a bit but couldn't get going really.
289 card from stash
290 & 291 present, card and packaging and stamps
Take care everyone

A few more bits decluttered and one biggie!!! A few empty cardboard boxes are now in the recycling bin. I have a 'thing' about storage boxes even bog standard brown cardboard ones. They might come in useful and so I keep them just in case. Anyway they've gone now 😊
The biggie was 2 tie racks - just long metal rods with fitting brackets - that have lain on my bedroom window sill since I had fitted wardrobes installed about 9 years ago. I'm embarrassed to admit to this. I kept thinking I would find a use for them and they have just become a piece of the furniture. Son is visiting on Sunday and if he doesn't want them I shall take them to a CS. I can't believe I've not done this before.Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)
