So the results for the 12 December saving session are in. I earned ~ 36,000 OctoPoints worth £45. That might just about pay for the heating bill for this week. Thanks to National Grid for their generosity.

In reality I saved about 800Wh in the session. It's only the in day adjustment that bumped it up to nearly 20kWh.

The in day adjustment is poorly conceived & seems to carry a 100% weighting. :o

A heavy weighting not 100% more like two thirds.

Did you achieve that by consuming 39kWh in the 3 hours ending 1 hour before the savings session?

Yes, around that figure - I don't use anything between 5-7pm because of the batteries. When you work back the value in kW it's around 25kW so it's not taking 100% of your use on that 3 hour period or I'd be around £80.

I'm really torn when it comes to these saving sessions, my gas is costing me a tenner a day but I'm still loathed to waste energy in the 4-1 hours before.

The last one my solar was working against me as it was covering around 1.7kwh in the early afternoon so I chose to wait until the final hour before running wasteful oil and fan heater and dishwasher, I only ended up with around 4.2kWh extra used and it awarded me about £7.
4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.
