If so, why do you expect the car to leave you stranded on this trip to the airport?blackstar said:Well thank you all very much for all your help, especially my friend Grumpy who has been very ungrumpy. I have put a deposit down on a Dacia 1.0 TCe 90.

People park in car parks for 2+ weeks at a time, you'd only really need to check with your insurers if you're going to leave it unattended for months.

I am sure on that channel 5 program about the motorway police there was an incident where a car was involved in a minor RTA ,the people called a breakdown truck but friends picked them up and the police were happy to get them off the motorway.0

OP I’m with the other responses, you seem to be over thinking this , perhaps as a result of stress over the illness of a relative. If your new Dacia is so unreliable Is there perhaps someone who could drive you to the airport , or is there enough time before the flight to get the Dacia fixed to cover whatever it is that is concerning you about it?
As for parking, use an official car park and don’t worry , don’t use a company that no one has heard of and who parks off site and adds to your stress. Also as above, you really don’t have to phone the insurance company every time you drive your car and park everywhere, in fact if you do they may start to worry that there is something very odd going on!Lastly, many years ago we had an electrical fault on our 8 seater Espace , we limped off of the motorway to a service station and called the AA . They asked how many of us were in the car (5 including children) and they sent a large tow van thing with 2 rows of seats in the front that could accommodate us all (although this was before car seats were mandatory for children) and took us all home.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
