Can a taxi pick you up on a motorway?

I assume the OP is no longer stuck, unless it was a strangely specific hypothetical question.3

Thanks, I have breakdown cover with RAC.Just have a very important flight to catch and no other flights available, to go and see a sick relative so trying to decide wether to take a taxi to the airport or drive or if driving better not to use the motorway in case of a breakdown as more chance to still make the flight if broken down on a street than if on a motorway.0

If you are concerned enough that your car is likely to break down then just go with the alternative transport option.I wouldn’t be trying to travel to get an important flight in a car that I wasn’t pretty sure was going to get me there, regardless of route. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.6 -

Chances are you will be fine. You can't mitigate every risk, especially since many of them are outside your control.

If you're fairly close then it may well be that a taxi may be cheaper than airport parking anyway. But if the flight is that important and you decide to drive, then just make sure you leave plenty of time. If, for example, it's an hour's drive, then give yourself 4 or even 5 hours. That should cover most eventualities. Or even, depending on how critical the journey is, get there the day before and stay at an airport hotel overnight. You can't possible cover every eventuality, but you can mitigate 99% of potential problems.

I'd classify rescuing someone from the hard shoulder in freezing conditions as an emergency. If they happened to go on and catch a flight, that's neither here nor there.0

I called led to let my insurance company know my car will be parked at airport for the 7 days and they said they need to know the terms and conditions its under while parked there ie if it got damaged etc etc or it may affect the policy.I've attached terms and conditions of the airport parkingAnyone heard of this?0

This is a confusing thread with what seems to be far too much over-thinking things that are all run of the mill.
If you don't trust the car to get you to the airport, then you need to use an alternative form of transport, which should be selected taking into account strikes and other factors that could impact the journey.
Where do you propose to park the car at the airport? If you are going to use a recognised car park, that is all within the normal use profiles for the typical car and would be covered under a standard motor policy. I assume you are not proposing to just park on a local side-road and hope for the best. What was the reason to phone the insurance company?1
