    A couple of general comments.
E7 times are normally set by the DNO for your own region, and they can vary slightly by a few minutes from MPAN to MPAN. This is so that there isn't a sudden surge in the load on a particular sub-station.
The times that suppliers quote are a general window (again, region dependent) and not necessarily the exact times that your E7 will switch (@LYNDBO please note).
Times do not vary because of BST, they will always be at the GMT times.

Those with mechanical time-clocks to control their E7 may find they have "drifted" and can even be outside the nominal E7 window. If that's a problem for anyone, they need to chase the Supplier for someone to reset the clock.

People with Smart Meters should find no change in timings because of BST, they again should remain at GMT times. However the exact time that they switch is controlled by a different register from the time indicated by an IHD (as observed at the start of this thread). Very often the IHD indication is the generic window, not the exact time decided by the DNO, BUT if you have Storage Heaters, Immersions etc switched by the meter you should see the Large change in Load indicated on the IHD at the exact time of switch.

Those with RTS (being phased out) should not see any change because of BST either. Whether there was an unusual bug that @Flumoxed experienced is inconclusive, if things haven't settled down and the full 7hrs aren't being achieved, there could be a fault with the RTS or meter and this should be reported to the supplier who will likely replace the set up with a Smart Meter.

The ONLY way to be CERTAIN of your E7 times is to look at the meter and watch what times it actually switches.

Our times were 21:57-23:27 and 01:28-06:28.
On 2/4/2024 they suddenly changed, the first block moving onward 30 minutes and the second block by 60 minutes.
First of all that is not 7 hours.
Secondly, it did not change with the change to BST.
Thirdly we had no notification of a change.
Fourthly, Octopus, when questioned say that the times are one block of 00:30-07:30.
Fifthly it was sheer luck that we spotted it happening.
Are we being short-changed, lied to or are they just incompetent?
you are neither being short-changed, lied, or does it involve incompetence.  Unfortunately, time drift occurs on some meters and usually results in a meter change being required.

BST is not used.  So, it wouldn't change with BST.   Its always on GMT.
What has it being doing since then?

However even as a Aga fan those comparisons are out of whack, as they suggest a conventional cooker and kettle would use over 12kWh per day.
Possibly I over egged it as our off peak rate is 8p.  So, the differential is greater.    A roast in the conventional oven/hob vs the AGA is not much different.    In the Summer, we don't do roasts,
