Logged out every time I exit the browser.

    Microsoft Edge on Windows 10.

Not a problem on any other website.
  • Reassuring to find others share the same problem. Using Firefox on Windows 10 laptop  (as always). Thought it could be due to my Password Manager (LastPass) or outdated cookies but I can't stay logged in whatever I attempt at my end of things

    Update

    I hope this helps MSE

Today I've noted its got better, fewer problems, IE none as posting and being chucked out. Just logged out after about an hour if I'm logged in for that long.

Trying to post and getting checked out was a tad tedious.

    :)
No change whatsoever for me.  Still getting logged out after an hour.
    Good morning
    Many thanks for that

I'd already done this but did this again, completely clearled all of my history and rebooted it.
It still logged me out after an hour but I was not getting funny messages when trying to post and getting thrown out anf it was getting a tad tideous.

Again, I'm sure it is a prob at MSE's end

    Many thanks

    Have a nice day :)
    Hi

    A further update

As above, ie no more being thrown out as trying to respond to a post but log out after, about an hour.

TBH, no big deal and I guess MSE like anny org needs to be careful not to be trying to fix something then something else, worse happens

As it stands, site working well, I was looking at saving rates etc all good etc and am still able to login and post etc.

    Thanks

It's a nuisance to have to keep logging in, especially when you've ticked the 'keep me logged in' box.  There's clearly a problem and presumably that problem can be fixed as it didn't exist until a few days ago.

Never come across this problem on any other forum so it's clearly a recent glitch - and one that can almost certainly be fixed by MSE. Not sure why you're suggesting it should be left unfixed!

And it's a fairly big deal (in the context of an online forum) if, like me and many others, you dip in and out of the forum on and off during most days.  There's a significant loss of displayed information when not logged in - for instance a board view no longer tells you what thread is new or has been added to, until you log back in.  Which is a nuisance.
    Hiya

Many thanks for your sharing your experiences and opinions, appreciated.

We are all impacted by this glitch but impacted in different ways and some feel it more than others.

I hope this is resolved soon as I can appreciate your concerns.

Even though I don't feel impacted by this as much as you, I do feel for you.

    Many thanks for sharing

    Take care  :)

PS: the site had another minior problem last week confirmed by a MSE guy in the section but that was resolved the next day.
As any good site, MSE are trying to improve the experience of visitors/customers/users but you do get glitches as with almost any site.
    :)

Thanks, I think! No real need for such effusive thanks, I'm only doing what we all do on forums!
    Hi

Now worries, I wanted to do it. You have a nice username and nice posting style.

TBH, I had to look up "effusive" but knew it was a compliment and this was confirmed when I looked it up
    Thanks again, appreciated

Same here, although ticked to remember log in.

It's a real nuisance as I use the forums throughout the day.

    Thanks for your help.
    Hi

Thanks for sharing. As others said they are ticked in.

I also get chucked out, see my previous posts

I'm 100% certain it is a site-wide problem and has nothing to do with what browser one is using.
Every other site I visit is good.

    Have a nice day. :)
Not quite a "site-wide problem" as it's not happening to me.

But it certainly seems like it's affecting a number of people.
