    Hi

As I've said in this thread, that is nothing unusual for many places/orgs.
Where I worked, also every Monday there were probs as techs had been "working" on  IT systems.

The worst times were when tech was changing/upgrading systems and probs went on for days if not weeks

Software is a very difficult animal to manage at times even with excellent people working on it. At times, some have to leave the minor/irritating glitches for a while in order not to crash the site when trying to fix them quickly.

These glitches we/MSE forum members are facing are almost zero level compared with the site being up and available to read for visitors and members alike, IMHO.

Not referring to MSE or any member that has posted here but where I worked, you had the backseat drivers putting down the IT department 24/7. Yes it did impact our work/caseloads as work piled up but those that shouted the loudest knew the least about IT/Software/etc.  Here, with us feeding MSE info, I'm sure this will help their IT experts to resolve this minor issue that is irritating
but the site is still working

    Many thanks.

It seems one or two users have not been hit by this yet, and I am wondering why.

This may be a complete load of rubbish, but I wonder if these users don't routinely clear cookies and have an "old style" cookie set before Thursday 8th which is keeping them logged in - so they haven't actually gone through the login process since 08/12 and haven't yet encountered the "revised" cookie set during the process. If someone who hasn't been affected by this problem would be willing to test this, they could deliberately logout, then login and see if they then encounter the problem 60 minutes later.

Also as the logging off clearly happens 60mins after logging in, I am starting to wonder if this is a deliberate "upgrade" to the software, possibly requested by a customer of the software other than MSE, but implemented universally.

You get logged out exactly 60 minutes after logging in irrespective of what you do in the meantime.

I am beginning to suspect (but hope it is not) something implemented by the software developers, possibly at the request of a customer other than MSE.
Those who are getting logged out once an hour are lucky. I'm getting logged out mid post and possibly every 5 - 10 minutes as well. I haven't been working out timings between log outs but it is no more than 15 minutes. In fact I was logged out before I wrote these three lines. I logged in again to write this post and was was logged out before I had posted this comment so I had to log in again just to send this comment.

    Hi

Cookies are cleared daily and automatically when I close a web page.

You may have a point re the "deliberate" but it is happening at times to me and others as we respond to a post.

    Thanks

Same here, although ticked to remember log in.

It's a real nuisance as I use the forums throughout the day.

    Thanks for your help.

I'm 100% certain it is a site-wide problem and has nothing to do with what browser one is using.

And I am 100% certain that you are mistaken.   :)

As I have already reported, I am not seeing this problem at all, therefore it plainly isn't 'a site-wide problem'.

Now, I am not saying it isn't a significant problem, it clearly is, but as I have already stated, I am not seeing this problem.

Whether or not that is because I'm using a different browser, I am unable to say.

I am merely saying that I am using the Opera browser Version:93.0.4585.37 and am not seeing the problem.
