Flight cancellation no notice

Travel Up is an online seller of predominantly flights but also does sell some holiday packages and tours.
UK to France via Turkey is quite some routing!
I think this comes down to whether TK informed Travel Up of the rescheduling and they failed to inform you, or if TK didn't notify Travel Up. You could I guess ask TK if they have details of when they (say) told Travel Up and if they have details of how that was communicated, then take up with Travel Up.
As Caz3121 says, pick how and with whom you book flights with care. Make sure the airline has your contact details. Check airline reservations regularly for changes.1 -

London to France with a stopover in Turkey sounds like two separate bookings or was it all handled on one ticket number? Which leg was cancelled, and have you established exactly when it was cancelled?Sunbeam753 said:
Yes the flight was from London to france with a stopover in Turkey. I think Turkish airlines would have put me on another flight but they contacted the agent but the agent didn't contact me to tell me flight was cancelled and therefore didn't offer me the flights. So I'm sure Turkish airlines will say they offered replacement flights but I didn't take them up on it!eskbanker said:What flight routing was it, i.e. was it departing from the UK or EU and therefore within the scope of the UK/EU261 regulations?
If so, the airline is responsible for arranging rerouting at no extra cost, so if they didn't do so, then they should reimburse you for the cost of the replacement flights.
Depending on how far in advance of departure the cancellation was, they may be liable to pay compensation too.
If the flight didn't fall within the scope of the UK or EU regulations, your rights will be similar but not identical, based on what Turkish offer in their equivalent policy.
no it was one booking as there are no direct flights to Strasbourg! It was the Istanbul to Strasbourg that was cancelled and I'm trying to establish with Turkish air when it was cancelled. No joy yet!eskbanker said:

Will defiantly check in future. It's never happened to me before in all my years of flying, except last month from Strasbourg, but I was contacted by airline so wasn't a problem. An expensive lesson!Caz3121 said:it does also highlight the importance of checking your booking regularly on the airline website, whether you book direct with the airline, via a good agent or via a poor one
I only book direct with the airline and have in the past picked up cancellations by checking my booking before being notified
still lots of cancellations and reschedules happening - I have been checking my bookings every 3 days for months now!0 -
Yes this is what I'm trying to find out.. I think it's more travel up not informing me, but they are trying to fob me off. I will keep pushing to find out who is at fault but communication is slow! Will defiantly check for changes in future flightsWestin said:@Sunbeam753

It's perhaps worth noting article 5(4) of the regulations:I'd have thought that this effectively means that theoretically the airline can't rely on an agent passing a cancellation message on and would need to obtain passenger contact details themselves....
The burden of proof concerning the questions as to whether and when the passenger has been informed of the cancellation of the flight shall rest with the operating air carrier.
