My mum and I have both reserved rooms now, both kept getting kicked repeatedly until we put something in the basket, it seems like that might be the thing that triggers the much hyped 'best browsing experience'. Good luck

Phew, I was panicking when I saw the other post :undecided having just booked 3 nights there in July, fingers crossed all will be well. Family of four so hope it's safe (no offence, just never been to Leeds!)

The carpark is 'Contract Car Parking' on Edward Street (Red dot on map). Just found reciept and it was £8.70 for 24hrs. We checked in mid Saturday afternoon (Travelodge entrance Yellow dot on map), had night out and then day shopping in Leeds Sunday. Some overnight car parks require further payments at say 10am next morning, this one is upto 24hrs.

Got another £19 room (last offer) booked here for in 3 weeks then another £9 in June. Followed by a night in Manchester.

Anyone know what Monmouth (and it's Travelodge) is like? Hoping to use it as a base for a few days to nip across to the Brecon beacons for the 1st time. Any tips welcome!

Use this review site, but be careful some people expect too much.

That area of Leeds is better than the area close-by the etap hotel at £32 a night. Parking free legally is difficult anywhere near the area on the map without a long walk and risk of theft. Even at the pay and display on St Mary's road near Maplins is a high theft risk area, a 6 minute walk away. Other than that there's an expensive furniture store just off Regent Street with an overly massive car park full of cars, but no sign of that number of customers inside the store, despite the signs warning of clamping/fines etc etc.

I don't think any stay there would be complete without even just a fleeting visit to Richer Sounds :D Or if you're really posh turn right out of the Hotel, walk straight down and Harvey Nichols is on your left.

Oh and I've just figured something out from the aerial photo, I'm pretty sure that car park used to be the old Leeds bus station. Could be entirely wrong and off the mark though.

I spent one night at the Monmouth travelodge. Didn't see the area around, but it is by the main road for the area so I imagine close enough to all the places you'd want to go to. The travelodge is like any other, clean, tidy, everything you need, and staff at desk seemed friendly enough.
