Statement has date 06 December 2022. It also has 'your new balance: £0.00' and 'please pay by: 3 January 2022' (of course there is nothing to pay as the balance is £0.00)
Just checked my email and guess what....email notification with subject 'Your statement is here' from barclays@emails.barclays.co.uk. has timestamp 16:16, so 9:16 am UK time.
Maybe there is no email notification for the first ever statement of an account, maybe it was a glitch. I don't know.
Also, I checked the app. Only the November statement is there. December statement not showing within App as yet. Maybe app is slower at coming to the party.
If I can access statement for now through the website then that's okay.
Thanks to everyone for sharing your ideas and suggestions.
edit: @Nebulous2I received an email very early in the morning on 3/12/22 saying it was now available.Have you always received this notification email? Even for the first-ever statement?
I've no idea about notifications. I've had my card for 18 years, so the history is lost in the mists of time. The statement used to appear on the statement date, but the transactions weren't up to date. As I said, previously I felt quite safe making a large-ish purchase on the statement date, as it didn't find its way onto the statement. Nowadays it probably would.I've no idea about notifications. I've had my card for 18 years,....That's a really long time. Barclaycard do introduce offers often. Is there any particular reason(s) you've not been tempted to cancel your Barclaycard, wait 6 months (This is one of the conditions of Barclaycard as I understand - we cannot apply for a fresh Barclaycard if an account has been closed within 6 months), then apply for a new card.
Perhaps, closing an account that has been going for that long is not good in terms of credit rating, as lenders look at the 18 years favourably in terms of stability. Or you just couldn't be bothered to close the account
Another reason could be that you've setup this card for automatic payments with many businesses and getting a new card means having to enter the new card details over and over again. (this reason is unlikely - as cards get issued ever so often we'd need to re-enter at least the expiry date and the number on the back again)
As I said, previously I felt quite safe making a large-ish purchase on the statement date, as it didn't find its way onto the statement. Nowadays it probably would.I would say, do the transaction at least the day after the statement date (just to be sure). In my case statement date was 6 December. I did the transaction on 7 December and it didn't appear on the December statement. Would you agree?

This card started as something else, possibly Egg, which was taken over by Barclaycard. The main reason I haven't closed it is that it pays 0.5% cashback on all my expenditure. You can no longer get one with that level of cashback. It also offers me decent money transfers and balance transfers, but I don't take them, as I don't mix spending and promotional deals. It is now my longest standing account, so has some benefit for my credit history.
Yes - you would be safe spending the day after your statement date, whether it has dropped or not.1 -

24th Nov, 26th Oct, 27th Sept, 24th Aug, 26th July, 28th June, 26th May, 28th April, 24th Feb, 27th Jan
Beyond it being the Tue or Thur in the last full week of the month, there doesn't seem to be any logic to it other than probably being a fixed number of days since the last one
I don't use the app, getting mine through the website. The statement has always been there if I've checked after receiving the email notification.
I checked email's (this morning) there was an email notification from Barclaycard with timestamp 10:16 am (I presume this would mean 3:16 am in UK - as I'm 7 hours ahead of UK time). See email below:
I logged in to the website a couple of hours later and the Activity Summary web page still says 'February statement is on the way':
I then browse to the 'Statements' section of the Barclaycard website, just to check if it's available there (even though the Activity Summary says otherwise). No cigar, I'm afraid. That page also still says 'Your February 2023 statement is on the way':
As you can see from the screenshots above, the statement isn't always available immediately (even a couple of hours**) after the email notification is sent/received.4justice2 said:Vortigern said:IIRC Barclaycard statements are always issued on the same working day each month.
So if your last statement was on the 5th working day of the month, all your statements will be on the 5th working day of the month.
Bank holidays, and weekends are not working days for the banks.
Looks like even though the statement is 'issued' on the same working day of the month. i.e. in my case the 4th working day. It may not be made available to the customer until a few days later.
To be fair, I did say 'issued' in the OP, so it implies the date on the statement. However, it certainly seems that the date on the statement is not necessarily when the customer has access to it. My experience from last month and this month is testament to this.
Btw, last month, I received the email on Sunday 08 January. That email had a timestamp of 10:12 am. However, contrary to this month, when I checked the Barclaycard website a hour or two later (around 11am-12pm), the statement WAS available.
** - just before posting this post I checked Barclaycard website again (5 hours after the timestamp on email). Statement is still not available. Message on activity summary and statements section of the web site is the same 'statement is on the way'.0 -
My Barclaycard statement is available online and via the app the day after I receive the email notification telling me it’s ready. And that was the same for the separate annual statement this time round too.0

It's now the next working day AFTER the email notification and the statement is STILL not available.
Is anyone aware as to how come the email notification says 'Take a look Your latest monthly statement is now ready to view online.' when it's clearly anything but ready to be viewed online?
Funnily enough, the activity summary is showing the March statement date of 6 March. At least with that we have definite confirmation that my account bills on the 4th working day of each month (as 6th March is the 4th working day)0 -
I’ve encountered an issue whereby a payment was made on the day of the ‘statement is on its way’ then showing up on statement the following day when it actually arrives. If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.
Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)
Total Debt = £7,400 (0%APR) @ £100pm - Stoozing1 -

Also, in the month the issue happened, what was the statement date you worked out, and what was the statement date that appeared on the statement?
Edit: About 1.5 hours after posting this post I checked the Barclaycard App. It was 3.30 am on 10.02.2023 in the part of the world I'm (It would've been 8:30 pm on 09.02.2023 in UK) statement was available for download.
The statement has the date 06 February 2023 on it.
So, to conclude although it has that date it can take three days to be available for download.
Also, I noticed that the statement downloaded via the app will have a nice filename such as:Monthly BarclayCard Statement_06-FEB-23 xxxxxxxx.pdf
So, I prefer to download it via app then transfer it when I transfer files from the download folder on smartphone to laptop/computer ever so often.
Then when it's on laptop/computer, I simply rename the file by adding a 001, 002, 003... in front, based on the number in the sequence that particular statement will take. Then I can sort according to file creation date or sort by filename when it comes to sorting/ordering the statements in future.
The same statement when attempted to download via online banking will come up with a pretty rubbish filename such as 'retrieveViewFile.form'. I clicked 'save' but it's not downloaded. Instead a message appears 'Failed: network error'.
The workaround is to click 'print', then it displays the filename as 'No Title.pdf'. Give it a filename and then hit 'save'. THat method is successful. I don't know if the same applies to you folks setup, but it definitely does with mine. Hence the preference for downloading via the app and transferring to laptop/computer.

The Barclaycard web login said on the 2nd Feb my statement was ‘today’, I received an email on the 4th saying it was ready, it took a couple of days to appear in the APP. The statement was dated 2nd Feb and held all transactions up to and including 31st Jan.
I think I may have made a mistake (or got mixed up with another CC) about payment timings after further investigation.
so far my statements vary from 2nd to 4th of the month. If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

By the way, what was your Barclaycard statement date last month?. I e. January 2023. I presume it was 3rd January 2023?0 -
update:
Statement issued on the forth working day (in my case) appears NOT to be set in stone AT ALL.
This month's statement (March 2023) should've been available on Monday 6 March 2023. I checked (both Website and App - even though we've established the statement is available via App later than website) throughout the day on Monday. Not available.
I then checked throughout the day (again, both website and App) on Tuesday 7 March 2023. Again, no sign of the statement.
Today (Wednesday 8 March 2023), on 6th working day, I check the website and statement is available. Soon after logging in to website and downloading statement (at 3:11 am) I receive the Barclaycard notification email (at 3:16 am). Thanks for thatNothing like a notification that arrives AFTER I'm already aware.
So, to conclude, the 4th working day (in my case - your mileage may/will differ) is the earliest (it seems).
