  • They can refuse delivery and the items should be returned to sender. Or you could ask them to pay again (maybe offer a slightly reduced price for the inconvenience etc....)

Whether the buyers do this is another matter........

These parcels have mysteriously all started scanning yesterday , looks like I cant stop them being delivered even though they have all been refunded , shall I tell them to refuse them , can they refuse them ?
How much is the contents of each parcel worth roughly OP?

I would certainly complain to Royal Mail and seek to get back the cost of "stamps" for each parcel.

With the parcels if they are delivered the buyers should either pay you or return them (probably at your cost), the amounts, although they do add up, individually aren't worth chasing seriously but it would be worth messaging any buyers to say you see it finally arrived and ask if they would like to repay or return, the offer of a small discount with profound apologies might ease the situation and keep the buyers on side.

You'll probably find some ignore you and others reply, hopefully more of the latter :)

  • Update , all delivered except one ,( took over 2 weeks and they were 48 hour tracked )
1 refused and on its way back , 3 collections paid by me to have returned , 2 paid again and I said not received despite GPS scan outside her house
Can someone tell me if they should get scanned at the depot after they have been collected , I have about another 8 that are showing as picked up around the 28th / 29th and nothing since
All of my 48 hour tracked parcels are taking about 2 weeks , but about 10 days of that they seem to be stuck at the depot , after that they appear at the hub
Is this normal or could it just be my depot , bit loathe to ring them again and spend an hour on hold

I had some RM24 collected from the house which sat in the depot for a week before progressing.  Ones which I took to the delivery office were all delivered quickly including some which continued moving on a strike day.
I suspect that collected items are ending up in a van and getting mixed up with general mail rather than being prioritised as RM say they are doing.
This is based on a total of only about a dozen parcels, so may not be representative or accurate.
  • I thought that would be the case but the delivery office is about 10 miles away, I have ended all my listing now anyway , too much stress for me , I am expecting more case to be opened soon , I already have 4
  • I have a RM24 item collected over a week ago and, after sitting in the van for 48 hours, was then taken to the wrong delivery office!

The status still shows as :"Sorry, your item went to XXXX DO in error, so we re-routed it immediately. More information will be available as it travels through our network."

Their 're-routed immediately' is a bit of a joke, considering it still has the same status as it did almost a week ago now.

Buyer hasn't contacted me yet, but thankfully the item was only around £15 or so in total, so should he raise a case I will just refund and let him keep the item. Not worth the hassle at the moment. Calling RM will take too much time and
    frustration.

What should happen is the parcel is collected by the postie, taken to the delivery office, put on a york trolley, collected by the lorry that evening and then sorted at the mail centre.

Either the mail centre is overloaded and not sorting the post, the delivery office is overloaded, or incompetent, and the parcels aren't leaving quick enough or the postie isn't putting them in the right place when they get back to the depot.

It may very well be the first one, hopefully after Christmas some normality will return, if problems continue it would point to the delivery depot being at fault.

1 refused and 2 paid isn't paid, the 3 on the way back are a pain but at least you'll get the items back, with the one saying they haven't had it it's difficult but I'd be tempted to write it off, it no doubt feels infuriating but the headache probably isn't worth the money.
