Lost parcels

I wondered if anyone had an idea of what could be happening here.
On the 25th November I had 7 parcels picked up from home , not the regular postie as they were on strike
He delivered one parcel to me and said he would take some that were ready ( I thought they would pick them up the next day )
He said he wouldn't be able to scan them but they would be scanned back at the depot
There has been no sign of any of them since , not been scanned at all ,
I have some suspicions but Royal Mail said they will turn up , in the meantime , as they said they wouldnt finish their investigation till the 9th, ebay suggested I contact all 7 to see if they wanted a refund ( due to Christmas and all that ) they all said they would so they could get a replacement in time
I have refunded them all ,now they are saying they may get delivered , obviously I dont want them delivered now
According to Royal Mail some parcels get there without ever being scanned , these are 48hour tracked so I find it hard to believe
I hope someone can help me , this is causing me quite a lot of stress
Thank you in advance

Hello OP
Postie should have scanned them on pick up. Is your local Royal Mail delivery depot far away?
If not I'd go there, explain what's happened and ask them if they can do a quick search of the depot (as in now whilst you are there) for the parcels. If they find them I'd then explain that you've refunded the 7 buyers and would like the parcels back, worth taking some ID to show you are the sender but even then they may say they can't give them back.
2nd class won't be tracked (although might be scanned) but if you sent them Tracked 48 then there should be several scans showing on the RM track & trace, if there are none at all for all 7 it's likely they've been stuck in the corner of the depot somewhere and not sent through the network. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1 -
Thank you for reply x
I was reluctant to go to the depot , I didn't think they would entertain me , they are supposed to have done a search and I was told by customer services to await results of investigation , I was also told yesterday that I can claim compensation from today but I have looked at the claim form and they need proof of posting which I obviously don't have so my problem continues x0 -
I think Royal Mail customer service is pretty poor but staff at the local depots have always been helpful, if it's not too far away worst they can do is say they can't help.
You are in a tricky situation with the claims as they've collected but not given you any proof, I'd upload a copy of the label if you still have one as POP and see what happens. If they deny the claims you should be able to escalate the claim for review again.
Long short but any CCTV or such showing them collecting that day?In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1 -
No CCTV but a neighbour saw them pick up , she came and asked why they picked up as she didnt know they did it.

Send them the booking conformation.
If they say that is not proof of collection just say the items have not been collected and demand your money back.
At least you'll get a refund on the postage cost if nothing else!0 -

Been to the depot , managed to speak to a manager , he said the driver definitely brought them in but they couldnt be scanned as they were booked in to be picked up on the next day ?
He said they are somewhere in the system , I am still not convinced they even got to the depot if you know what I mean , everything points to that scenario , to me anyway
He then said they will be delivered eventually , I said what good is that , they have all been refunded , he suggested voiding the labels
I then rang customer services again ( another hour wasted ) got a jobsworth again ,he said if I voided the labels they would probably still be delivered , told me to message all the buyers and tell them they may still turn up
What on earth would I say , well they might turn up but they might not lol some have already bought replacements , one bought another one from me.
Really dont know what to do now , really peed off with it all

The bit about them being due for pick up the next day is odd, doesn’t make sense.
I’d submit the claims as soon as you can and note somewhere on the form that the manager has confirmed collection took place. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1 -
These parcels have mysteriously all started scanning yesterday , looks like I cant stop them being delivered even though they have all been refunded , shall I tell them to refuse them , can they refuse them ?0
