Ouch to the dentist (hate fillings :() but could be worse moneywise. I have the cream ones and they are fine - much less noticeable than silver of course and have held so far!

Sorry to hear about the car - they are money pits aren't they? We have one "leaking into its boots" - no idea what that means but I am certain it is more money! Must get it booked in to be done.

But sub £8K is FANTASTIC! :T keep sight of that in the midst of all the cr*p - you are making great progress in the grander scheme of things!
  • Thanks Mizmir,

Meant to say the "cream ones" werent an option (unlike the assistant told me last time) It was either Silver on Nhs or pay for white ones privately.

Thing that bugs me is to have the silver ones at this place privately is £48, for the white its £63 so why cant they take the difference? I.e. £15 per tooth, grand total would be £30! Instead of £126!

The nhs is obviously covering the £48 so why cant it still be used!

That does seem unfair. Never sure why you can't just top up the price.

My dentist will only take you on their own plan - £20 a month for two of us whether we go or not! I suppose it is an incentive to go to the dentist and get your money's worth! :D

Well i had some news last night that means my debt busting my have to take a back burner. My gf got told that she cant drive for 12 months, so there is a very large possibility we will need to rent a house together.

I have sat and worked out a budget and it would mean i can either

    a) carry on paying my loan and over paying by approx £200 a month.

    or

    b) and i know this will get frowned apon on here but the other is consolidating everything into a loan over 4 years which will give me some breathing space for moving in. Then I will have spare money for things that "pop" up, if i dont then i wont.

This is kind of being dictated by circumstances but nothing would make me happier than living with my girlfriend. She cant stay at home as it would add 3 hours onto her working day with buses, where as if we get a place she can be at work within 15mins (so 30 mins onto her working day)

Have sat and worked out my budget and i can afford to do a) and b) but im worried if i do a) then im not going to have any back up if we have a big bill.

Everyones thoughts will be gratefully received!

    Time for a :coffee:

Hi EAMD, sorry but i haven't had the chance to catch up with your diary lately so only read the last few posts. About moving in with GF. You say that you are overpaying loan by £200 a month. Instead of consolidating you could use this £200 a month towards rent instead of overpaying loan? Sorry if you have already considered this & it isn't an option!
