Our neighbour bought a house that was originally part of another one so became 1a X Street as the original house front door was 1 X Street but their new front door and house is on Y Street.
Their sign on the house with number and street name just confused everyone as people looking on X Street couldn't find them and people looking on Y Street through they were on the wrong street.
They have since changed the house number and street so they are now 4 Y Street which makes much more sense.

Now the sign on the house says 4 Y Street. I assume the owners asked the council to make the change or they have just started doing it themselves. I'm not sure how long the process took but the original sign was up for around 6 months before being changed.
I know when I built a house the process of adding a new address didn't take too long and was ready in advance of house being built. Speak to the relevant council department and see what they are saying.
  • They probably put the sign there before they were fed up of delivery drivers not being able to find their house.

Talk to the council, or put up your own sign.

Why not simply tell the neighbours it’s causing problems and ask them to move it somewhere more sensible?

I am a little unclear whether the entrance ion on your road but with an address on a different road,or if theentrance is on a differnt road but they have pout a sign up on yours. If it is the latter, then maybe pu a note through their fdoor mentioning that the sign is confusing delivery drivers and suggesting that they add an arrow to make it clearer.

If the entrance is on your street,  maybe ask the council if they can put up a sign with your street name on that corner and/or put a note through the neuighbour's door asking if they can change the sign to 'deliversies for [address] instead, which would make things clearer as it would suggest it was a back / side door.

Or put a sign up for your own property including the street name, of course!

    Hi

I've just re-read the OP and initially I had misread it. The sign is on the other owner's own house, the side wall of it..  Based on that, IMHO, OP needs to put a sign of their own up if they wish as they is really nothing they can do having reread the post.

    Thanks
