We managed to catch an hour or so of the coronation proceedings. Saw the carriage arrive at the palace and the fly past. We actually enjoyed watching it over a couple of beers.
Hope you get your feedback from the viewing soon.4 -
So pleased things are starting to happen on the flat sale front. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Exciting times!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

I feel excited about the move, & it's not even me that's moving! I think it's just been a weird few years & it's just nice to hear that people are doing things, moving on, etc. I'm most excited about hearing all about @EssexHebridean putting a new garden together & being able to grow some food. Fingers & paws defo crossed here for a good sale.

Thanks for all the finger crossing folks - much appreciated! We are considering a couple of viewings of places we might be interested in over the weekend as we are beginning to feel a bit more confident about things with ours now.
MrEH's Regular saver money finally dropped into the joint account last night, so I have transferred that over to the C0v3ntry and the deposit pot - a fraction over £23k in there now to add to the value of the flat plus the odds and ends we plan using from elsewhere - those premium bonds need to consider their days to be numbered, I'd say! That is it for maturing Reg savers for the time being - we've each got a Pr1nc1pality one of course but those are far later in the year, and my FD one as well. The New House Fund has just over £4k in it - meaning we should have covered the stamp duty we expect to have to pay and be starting to accrue money against the other fees we'll have to pay. I'm expecting that to increase at a faster pace over the next couple of months too thanks to the reg savers now being finished.
£62 in fuel for MrEH's car last night - the effects of the dropping diesel prices definitely being felt now which is grand!
Food under control - the savoury rice last night was lovely - I took the chance to use brown rice which I love but MrEH is less keen on - I figured with lots of other tasty things in with it though he'd be less likely to notice it and so it proved, I shall remember that for the future! I'm switching the planned soup out for salad tonight as we have salad stuff to use up from the veg box - we've got some bread that was bought YS'd and needs used so that will work nicely alongside. We have an emergency meeting for the voluntary role this evening so it's perfect to have something lined up that will be quick to prep.
I *may* have to work on Friday this week - we'll see how things go. I've got a fair amount of stuff to sort that needs sorting ahead of next week though and I suspect more is going to come up yet as well. I've already said I can do Friday if needed, and it would then give me an added holiday day to use later in the year which might prove to be useful.

My DH is the same with brown rice. Says he hates it, but I've been giving it to him for ages and he never notices. If he spots it boiling on the hob and thinks it doesn't look very white, I tell him I've put a stock cube in for flavour, or some soy sauce or anything that would turn it more brown...he believes me....lolMaking the debt go down and savings go up
