Oh no! So sorry about MrEH's dad. What a shock for you all. Big gentle hugs as you navigate the next bit. I'm glad you've got a bit of extra time off - you don't need to be fretting about tedious practical details at this point xx2

Also sending condolences. Keeping things organised and ticking over is a great help at times like this. There's enough for MrEH to be dealing with so knowing that you are on top of day to day stuff will be reassuring.

Sorry to read about Mr EH's dad. I think it is often still a shock even when actually expecting bad news.2

Thanks all - very much appreciated, currently trying to strike the balance between getting the details sorted and also ensuring that he has space to get his head round it. He's debating currently about returning to Devon tomorrow - in which case he may stay down there until after the funeral - and I will get the train down on Wednesday. Otherwise I would think we will drive down either late on Tuesday evening or very first thing the following day. Leaving that entirely up to hi though and what he thinks/feels would be best for him and his Mum, in particular.
Payday for me today too - so I've done some money shuffling first thing and the regular 1st of the month DD's and transfers have also gone today. I need to remember that there will be a bigger than usual surplus in the joint account this month due to the two bigger reg savers that were funded from income finishing - I think currently as I said previously the best plan there is for me to open a new C0v3ntry one, and for me to set a regular monthly transfer across to FD to fund that one too - then the balance can be transferred into the New House Fund for now.
CT & WR money from the "free" month transferred to the New House Fund (I'm going to start calling that NHF now I think!)
The gym membership cost has now hit the CC so I've also transferred that across - signature changed here to reflect. As I was musing yesterday, I covered the cost from the Gym Neutral fund, plus the surplus in my own personal accounts from last month - no raiding of savings needed at all which I'm delighted about! Now time to start rebuilding the gym neutral fund again! (So - surveys!) On that basis I have just transferred the £10.xx I had sitting in Prolific - I'll throw that across later once I retrieve it from PP.
I'll probably sit quiet on much more money stuff until tomorrow now when the bulk of the regular payments will have gone out. On a further financial note - and in the interests of transparency, I am utterly FUMING at myself for that c*ck up with my own account a couple of months ago when I accidentally transferred money from the wrong place without thinking - in spite of only being overdrawn - and within my agreed limit - overnight, it's still cost me 32p - so that's a salient lesson in checking and double checking, and also a good reminder on why overdrafts are SO problematic! Absolutely my own fault - but infuriating nonetheless.
Food last night was our usual Tuesday couscous - with chickpeas, red pepper, mushrooms and halloumi. Very tasty. I've got turkey out for a risotto tonight (which will also use up the rest of the mushrooms) - and am leaving tomorrow as jacket tatties with beans and cheese as that can work whether it's both of us, or just me at home. I'll make another lot of the spring greens and courgette with mustard and lemon to go alongside the risotto as a bit of extra green too - that will use the last of the greens up, and then by some miracle I will also have only the one cabbage still to deal with!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I made couscous last night too, @EH. It's something we tend to have more in the summer months, but it was very nice. I just add whatever we happen to have in . Last night's additions were turmeric, peppers, onions, red chilli & currants. Very tasty with a home made spicy chickpea burger perched atop & a bit of coleslaw. A cheap grain to cook too in terms of gas, as only requires such a tiny amount of boiling water from the kettle.
I'd have been annoyed with that 32p charge too, but it's done now....& you're not likely to do it again.

I'd be annoyed at that 32p too, even though I spend far more than that on rubbish quite regularly
It's the pointlessness of it, isn't it?? Good work on the gym fund though
No more house news, I take it?2 -
Food all sounding delicious and I’d be livid at the 32 p too.January spends - £587.582

There must be some deep psychological reason why so many of us get so much more annoyed at the minor mistakes we have made than the major ones others do. Of course it could just be that we expect more of ourselves than we do of other people.2
