not looking likely. my switch date is tomorrow and no bonus paid. my previous bonus was 08/20 on a different account but looks like Halifax are "efficient".AlwaysLearnin said:

are Halifax on the ball regarding dates of a previous incentive? i know some banks are better than others at this.
Rustled up a donor account today and have just requested a switch to my second existing Halifax account (I have had the April 2020 reward on my first Halifax account, so this might test if they are tracking individual accounts rather than the account holders). 10 days from today is the 13th, so 6 days to test out.
whether a new "login" beats the system i'll never know but certainly not a new account on an existing login.1 -

Well I got my debit card and internet banking activation, all working OK. No sign of the bonus but then my switch date is Monday so maybe its not got there yet..0

Opened the account on the 2nd (already had login details due to existing kids monthly savers). Chose 1st available switch date (from Metro Bank) of the 13th and today have £175 sitting in my account. Once I receive the card and pin, which aren't even showing in the app yet, I will switch on the Reward Extra.

I assume this would also allow you to open additional Reward accounts up to a max of 3 per user profile?Ed-1 said:

I'd caution with using Revolut. I've had payments held up by them in the past, presumably for paying in from 3 different debit cards in rapid succession followed by an attempt to withdraw the money all at once. Your mileage may vary, but if/when something goes wrong it's an absolute pain trying to get in touch with someone who understands the problem and can actually sort it out for you.AmityNeon said:
Assuming payments aren’t blocked, Revolut is the faster method as deposits are instant and the money can be moved immediately elsewhere (e.g. higher interest savings).alibean121 said:In my experience you’re better with Yorkshire or Skipton Building Society savings accounts for debit card topup. Or paying a credit card bill.
Credit card bills if available may be too small in value (especially if holding multiple Reward accounts), or better used to fulfil regular the direct debit requirements of other current accounts (e.g. Barclays, NatWest, RBS).0 -
In my experience, any cleared debit card spending counts. If there were exclusions to the types of debit card transactions allowed, then there would mention of them in the rewards T&Cs. I usually do the savings account rigmarole, but I have also used payments to a CC in the past to qualify for the monthly reward.flaneurs_lobster said:
If you can pay your Virgin CC using the debit card (as opposed to bank transfer) then I can't see why not. I'll have a trawl of the T&C later to see if there's a definition of what constitutes "spending" on the debit card for the purposes of getting the fiver.dreamypuma said:Thanks that gives me some confidence. Will paying my Virgin Credit card count towards the £500, or does it need to be traditional swipes and taps of the card and online goods? If so I think I can make the £500 criteria.0 -

I've had problems with YBS and Revolut, and YBS was far more frustrating to resolve, but when things go smoothly, Revolut is the fastest as they don't wait for the deposits to clear. The biggest hassle was actually Halifax blocking my debit cards, one at a time, which necessitated separate calls to resolve.PRAISETHESUN said:

Anyone had trouble switching during the application? Keeps telling me that it cannot switch the account I'm trying to switch (recently opened nationwide donor account).0
